Just Being Sensible

Established Performer (EP) takes it upon himself to help younger artists by collaborating with them via songs, concerts, and other projects. Having built his name over the past years, EP has a reputation that is respected in the industry. His fans have also remained loyal despite his career moves, which others easily point out as the reasons for a dip in his popularity.

When EP made the big move, he decided to put his foot down and not be dissuaded by loyalty and the impending bad press. Much could be but a coincidence, but whenever an artist from his station transfers, a deluge of negative publicity seems to follow. Thus, EP was subjected to comments focusing on his lack of loyalty and meeting doom. EP was not afraid, as he wanted to try different projects, which his former station was not giving to him. In his new home, EP explored other facets of his talents, from hosting, singing, and even acting.

As time passed, EP was noted to have lost a bit of his popularity and was egged on to return to his former station. However, EP was determined to make his choice work. Patience and perseverance were his primary traits to keep his career afloat. Then, he decided to join forces with Troubled Talent (TT) for a project. Similar to EP, TT is a homegrown talent, but unlike EP, she remained loyal despite the odds and failure of her station to give her career the much needed boost.

TT seems to be the enigma of the station. She has the looks, talents, and following, but still, she cannot guarantee a good return on investment. As people know, to survive in the entertainment industry, talent is not enough. Thus, network talents who do not have talent, but are able to bring in high returns are more likely to stay longer than those who have real talent, but cannot seem to hit the box-office.

These factors did not bother EP, as he decided to continue the project with TT. As preparations were being done, EP realized that rumors were indeed true. Doubling his effort, EP realized that tickets were not moving as fast as he had expected. It seems that TT did not have the following that EP had expected. On the day of the project, the venue was allegedly not full. EP felt that TT was the unlucky one and he was sucked into her bad luck. Thus, he vowed to stay away from collaborating with her in the future.

Seeing the modest crowd, however, did not dampen the spirit of EP, as he continued to perform his best because that was what he owed the ticket buyers. The same attitude was displayed by TT, who is no longer unfamiliar with such a situation.
