Jessy Mendiola has finally broken her silence after several photos of her with Luis Manzano made the rounds online fueling speculations that they are dating.
In an interview on Thursday, Mendiola said she sees nothing wrong with hanging out with the TV host.
“I am not the type naman to be so cautious about it or be so scared na makita ako ng ibang tao sa labas kasi I am single. I don’t have any problems with going out with other people,” she said.
Mendiola said her photos with Manzano that are circulating online are proof that they are not hiding anything.
“I really appreciate the fact na he has always been there for me as a friend, as himself. He’s a very good guy. Wala naman ako masasabi kasi alam naman natin na whatever I say or do will be taken against me. Maraming masasabi ang mga tao. It is what it is. What you see is what you get,” she said.
The actress, however, maintained she does not want to label it as a date.
“Kasi sometimes we go out as a group. Nagkakataon lang na kami ang napi-picture-an kasi kami 'yung public figures. Alangan naman magpa-picture sila sa ibang friends namin? We go out sometimes. Yeah, you could say we go out and we are friends and we are getting close to each other,” she said.
Asked if she thinks Manzano is courting her, the 23-year-old actress simply said: “Ewan ko sa kanya.”
But does Manzano even stand a chance?
“Oo naman. I am not denying anything. Ayaw ko naman maging sobrang pretentious na wala. Meron kasi, ‘di ba? As I’ve said, Luis is a good guy. Any girl would be lucky to have him kaya siguro Lucky ang pangalan niya,” she said.
Despite enjoying Manzano’s company, Mendiola said having a love life is not her priority as of the moment.
“He knows that I have a lot of things to do right now. He knows I am enjoying my life as it is,” she sadi. “Ang daming opportunities na dumadating. I don’t want to be derailed from it.”
