Erasing Her Graceless Past

Everyone knows that finding a good one is a big challenge. Others feel lucky to have found trusted HH they can leave their homes to, at the very least. Yet, HH’s “staying power” in one’s household is determined to a large extent - by the way their employers treat them.
Wherever they work, HH are often subjects of abuse since people know that most of them are gullible and easy prey. They are perceived as not knowing any better – especially those who come from the provinces. Many people, celebrities or not are just as guilty of abuse.
Young Actress YA was overheard giving tips to Fellow Actress FA regarding hiring maids. Earlier, FA was telling YA that she badly needed one for her mother who had been without HH for quite sometime. YA who projects an innocent screen persona said something to FA that kind of shocked her.
YA told FA that she could refer some HH to FA who would come from their province. YA quoted a salary bracket to FA that was way below standards. Before FA could even react, YA told her that it’s okay to give these HH or drivers below standard rates because they are ignorant.
What YA said next totally floored FA, “ Besides, it’s okay for them whatever amount you will give them because they are used to being penniless anyway.”
If the statement sounded mean and exploitative, people who know YA know where she was coming from. Notably, it is something in YA’s past that's behind such statements. Source said that YA must be describing herself during the years she felt so deprived - a poignant part of her life she had refused to acknowledge, and in her heart, would rather forget?
“No one will dare maintain that it is better to do injustice than to bear it." ~ Aristotle

Letter from a Reader: The Consistent Despicable Personality of Hot Celebrity

I've
been an avid reader of yours for like a year and I would like to share
with you a story about a young actor YA. YA was my former neighbor. He
didn't know me, but I know him, of course.
Before
YA even entered showbiz, I already knew him for many years. Every time I
walked around the village and met YA along the street, I would smile or
say “Hi!” His reaction? Nothing. He would not even say a word or smile.
YA just looked and passed me by. This encounter happened several
times. My other neighbors have experienced the same thing, and had
described YA as a total snob.
When
he entered showbiz, his attitude became worse. He's more like "bilib sa
sarili" or "mayabang." When he bought a car, he boasted off to his
family, friends, and to some of our neighbors. His actions were a major
turn off. One time, his voice was so loud that I could hear his
conversation with his brothers boasting about the fans he had, and even
compared his number of fans to those of other celebrities. One of his
lines was, "I-compare mo naman fans nila sa fans ko."
I
was really happy and relieved when I knew he would be living in another
house soon, away from our village. Recently, I saw him in the mall,
eating in a restaurant. Girls naturally gathered around him asking for a
picture, but the man he was with, told them that YA had to beg off.
Then I realized, he never changed. YA was still the same snob guy I
knew.
Just sharing,
Martin

Last Friday, July 19, Mr. Alcasid formally bid his former GMA bosses goodbye, as respect to his network which had been his home for more than a decade. Ogie opted not to renew his contract with GMA and decided to transfer to TV5.
A scheduled contract –signing between Ogie and TV5 will be happening anytime soon. According to a source, the singer’s talent fee TF with his new network is within the figure three hundred fifty thousand (Php 350,000) per episode/show that he will be doing with the said network. On top of that, Ogie was offered to head an executive position.
