Deal or No Deal

Prior to singer and host SH appearance in a variety show VS where she was to promote her finished project, SH’s family member FM laid out some requests (conditions?) to the production team PT of VS. It must be noted that SH is held in high esteem in the show, such that certain requests from FM are given importance as well. FM, despite her overbearing self usually gets away with everything if only for the goodness of SH whom PT and others always take into consideration.

PT knew that certain FM’s requests were difficult to meet. For one, the appearance of SH in VS would coincide with the network’s prized actor PA’s personal celebration that day. Everyone knew that SH and PA are not exactly on friendly terms. Add to that, SH also had issue with a controversial star CS that was believed to be already settled. But FM was still not into her, so she, too, had to go. Those were quite tough for PT. However, PT tried its best to please FM if only for SH. So what were the conditions? Here you go:

Request #1 – SH should have her own solo dressing room

Request #2 – SH’s and PA’s numbers should have a big gap, as in far apart from each other. Definitely SH would come later than PA.

Request #3 – Controversial Star CS would not be present on that day. CS was eventually assigned to do a provincial show.

Requests like these cannot be over-emphasized, yet PT did them just the same, owing to the fact that SH is a valued and major star. It really takes a lot sometimes to deal with the terms of SH in general, and to FM in particular. Yet, the one and only consolation for VS and PT: SH is the piece de resistance. Bar none.

Badly Tainted

Once again, celebrity host CH has proven that she has what it takes - a unique talent to mislead, manipulate anyone at anytime. Undeniably, CH’s knack at diverting people’s perception for her own benefit is uniquely hers.

Wasn’t she talked about before as the one behind her colleagues’ coming so late at a show’s rehearsal because she gave them misleading time? Remember how that incident eventually earned her a monicker? Truly, she is 'lying' personified.

And now CH did it again. After everything that she had fed the media about a family member FM’s plan to transfer to another network, the details she was giving were actually the exact opposite of what was being hatched and planned.

Let's rewind a bit. Some years ago, when she and FM were still under one roof aka network NE, CH said that it was she who persuaded FM to transfer to new network NN since there was no way FM would get noticed and be given projects in NE due to the overcrowding of talents already. Insiders agreed with her because not only was FM new, she was also perceived to be without talent and face value at all. And for her to compete with the truly talented and beautiful stars in NE, would only be a useless exercise.

At NN, FM was fortunate enough to be given really good projects, a big blessing for someone unknown. But over the years, people observed that FM did not have anything to show for it that she had improved and grown as a talent. In fact, what people know of her is her big attitude and unprofessionalism in the workplace.

Meanwhile as FM’s contract with NN expired, there was no word that it would get renewed despite her family’s incessant follow ups. To make matters worse, FM was never given projects for a long time. Adding to their problem is the entry of a fresh talent FT to NN who looks a lot of a star material than FM - much younger, a lot prettier, and some say, more promising, thereby more favored by NN. That compounded their problems even more.

CH and FM were in panic mode along with FM’s manager. But CH was on the defensive, as always. For a long time, she was actually slowly working her way in NE – pulling strings and quietly sneaking to her network bosses for them to take FM into NE. Finally, as she was seeing potential success, she went around giving media interviews that ran contrary to her plans, saying that she would never like FM join her in NE due to many conflicts.

Then several weeks after that, announcements were all over that FM was the new the entrant to NE’s stable. People were shocked. But to most insiders, that was nothing new to CH - proving once more how cunning and manipulative she can be. People are now asking, “Where is CH’s influence coming from?” Don’t ask me!

Young and Confused

Talented singer and host SH who won in the reality singing search has been questioned often about her preferences. There’s some valid points ‘though for the doubters because for the longest time, SH did not properly address the issue. And most often, whether it was deliberate or not, SH tries to fan the rumor even more by trying to look the part.

To be fair to SH, she has always been professional in all her dealings and never for once been a headache to any production in any of her projects. Although there will always be the attendant rumors in between, SH is able to rise above it all, and both fans and followers respect her for who she is and isn’t, if you get the drift. Still no matter what, anyone who joins showbiz will never be spared from the glass house that is gossip mill.

At a musical event, SH shared a dressing room with one pedigreed newbie PB in the music industry. Like SH, the pretty and talented PB was at the event to perform a number. She arrived quite early, so while waiting for the program to start, PB killed time somewhere with friends. When informed that the show was about to start, she came back to the dressing room – and right there, she got the shock of her life! PB saw SH and her female assistant PA in a tight embrace kissing each other.

Obviously, that shock was PB’s baptism of showbiz fire. In this case, will it be a shock if SH will honestly profess who and what she really is? Either way, malicious minds will go rampaging once more.

Letter from a Reader: A Rough Awakening

Dear Fashion PULIS,

I am not writing to ‘meddle’ or add fuel to the fire; I am writing to hopefully enlighten and reach out. I hope that people concerned take this letter as coming from a concerned part of the circle. Amidst the misunderstandings and misconceptions, this idealistic actress IA has been very grateful to her relatives RE who love and spoil her, everyone who’s close to them knows that, and IA has always been vocal about it.

Now let's discuss some points.

Going back to RE's words, IA has been a good and obedient; but unbeknownst to many, she is like a dog that follows almost everything. Being a person in authority, practically, RE's decisions are final. Yes, IA thinks and analyses things; but the decision is left to RE.

It has to go both ways, but IA just lets RE do what it wants. Sorry to disclose it, but when it comes to money, RE tends to become acquisitive. Everyone close to IA, even her team (PA, driver, yaya), knows how much RE controlled over IA’s finances.

IA who has earned a lot through her numerous projects through the years is just provided a small allowance daily, which to think of it is the same amount a student receives. There were times that she had to borrow the gas allowance that’s given to the driver just to buy herself a cup of coffee.

She’d go to regional tours without enough money because all her finances are with RE. As a matter of fact, IA has no idea how much she is earning. And with her stability in the business, she still doesn’t have her own house. Where are her investments? RE claims IA is dependent; but would it be that way had she been given access to her resources she has worked hard for, that can let her to live independently?

From entertaining to possessive – that’s how RE becomes when it comes to IA's relationships. This is not the first time it happened, which is old news. As soon as RE sees that the guy is capable of saving IA, RE does everything to end it. I personally don’t care who she is with right now, but I think this doing needs to come to an end.

Yes it’s not that easy to let go. But RE will not be around forever, and IA will grow up and lead her own life. Being happy with somebody doesn’t mean that marriage is coming soon; if so, one’s good ties with RE will keep her around. I saw how IA’s exes came and went. She might have lost someone good for her as she listened and obeyed, but I guess she’s old enough to know now.

This time, many lines have been crossed; maybe because IA is a lot more determined and someone is helping her get out of the perceived hell she’s in. IA tried to call RE, assuring them that she was okay and their fears unfounded.

Condo security got harassed, there would always be instruction for them to check IA’s van every time she came home, and the guards cried to her because if they did not do it, they'd lose their jobs. Her driver was fearful, too, because he knows everything.

One day, as IA's car was taken out to be washed, RE wanted to declare carnapped because it’s nowhere of her sight. IA driver got beaten up with a pipe for all the wrong reasons. IA rebelled and did not to go home, wearing the same clothes the next day.

Despite it all, her driver who have been with her for years still wants to work for her to protect her. I don’t know why this cruelty should happen to him. After that incident, IA texted RE to stop all of this, pleading that she has endured all the years, to not include innocent people with their rift.

IA has always said that the last thing she wanted to do is disrespect RE, but how can she fulfill that with how she and some people around her are being treated? She has kept mum throughout these years; she never said any negative thing to the public about RE because she loves and respects them.

I know RE only wants the best for IA. But would taking things publicly accomplish this? I hope that RE tries to look back and appreciate all the goodness that IA had shown and done for you. Hope that you can fix this peacefully. At the end of the day, it is your own blood that will matter.
