Can You Keep My Secret?

The public is hardly privy to the ins and outs of network dynamics between talents and insiders. When a talent is given lucrative projects, rumors would go around that he or she is the pet of a powerful insider. By contrast, when a talent is frozen, sometimes he or she would blame that fact that he or she is not in the favor of a prime mover. Yet, if no such relationships exist, then there should not be any smoke when there’s a flame.

Lucky are talents who have the backing of executives. Regardless of talent, proper management and backing can transform a nobody into a very important celebrity. However, such relationships are often unspoken of and taken as is by people in the station. When some celebrities went on an out of town event, the top executives joined to show their support. This action is not surprising as the presence of executives inspires talents to give their best, as their bosses will be watching. However, there is a rule that is silently followed, and that is, “see no evil, speak no evil.” In other words, even if one sees something, none should be told.

To make sure everyone will be easy to find, the talents and the executives occupied an entire floor. Of course, they had separate rooms. On the eve of performance, when every talent was supposed to be asleep, Network Insider (NI) chanced upon Pretty Talent (PT) enter the room of Respected Executive (RE). While rumors have it that PT is the current favorite of RE, no one would dare speak about it. However, actions do speak louder than words, as some people are surprised as to why PT often bags major projects despite being less talented as others in the network’s stable. NI pretended she did not see anything.

The next night, RE wanted to talk to NI and he knocked on the door of her room. To his surprise, Fervent Actor (FA) opened the door and greeted him. FA was about to step out, but RE was a bit startled. As though he was sweating, FA defensively said that he had just brought some cake to NI. Then he left. Of course, RE did not say anything except “good night” to FA. Because the system works well, RE followed the rule.

Similar to RE and PT, NI and FA have long been speculated to have a special relationship. Given that FA seems to fall in trouble offcam, he is still in good standing as far as his projects in the network are concerned. As NI keeps a low profile, even though she is quite well known, linking her to FA seems unthinkable as far as the public’s eye is concerned.

Well with this alleged scenario, one wonders what happens to the respective partners of PT and FA, as both are involved in highly publicized relationships. Are these partners following the rule as well?
