New BL Series, 'Better Days,' Introduces New Actors, Chesther Chua and Benedix Ramos

Series ‘Better Days’ to add new flavor in PH Boys’ Love craze

Serving this August 2020, a new Boys’ Love Series titled Better Days is set to prove that true and pure love goes beyond physical attraction. 

Starring influencers-turned-actors Chesther Chua and Benedix Ramos, both new in the acting field, Better Days follows the colorful story of a vlogger and a chef and how food will play a pivotal role in igniting a spark in what seemed a candid relationship.

Netizens may expect a lot of featured local delicacies in the series.

Sharing the story behind Better Days, writer-director Carlo Obispo, the genius mind behind Cinemalaya’s Purok 7 (Zone 7) and 1-2-3, said, “Nung nagbe-brainstorming kami ng producer ko, if we wanted to make a BL, nag-agree kami na magiging inspirational siya.

“This is inspired by our BL couple friends na ‘yung love nila is founded on ambitions, goals and dreams at sabay nilang ina-achieve together.”

Kristian Villaflor, Unframed Film’s Executive Producer, added, “we are offering love as a venue in fulfilling their individual dreams by growing together.” 

Lead stars Chesther and Benedix are both Youtube content creators with over 100,000 subscribers under their name.

Better Days is produced by Unframed Film Production and co-produced by Lovejohn Media Productions and Uncle Scott Global Productions in cooperation with Rough Road Productions.

Everything was going well for Hardworking Personality (HP). Her career was on the upswing. Her projects were coming one after the other. Money was entering her bank account regularly, and with such consistency, HP started to live her life.

The lure of going overseas and taking quick vacations between jobs was too hard to resist. Any spare time of HP was spent on travel and her fans were treated to photos of places she visited. With her stable income, she took loans for her unit and the best cars she could afford. Even jewelry did not escape her eye. When she wanted beauty treatment, she availed of aesthetic services. HP was truly living a life young talents envied, but she responsibly paid her dues on time.

Then, the pandemic struck. Work suddenly stopped. HP’s projects were halted. No work meant no payment. Even her sidelines could not happen as face-to-face contacts, much more for physical ones, were avoided. With her lifestyle, HP was unprepared for the coming payments she needed to make to keep her home, car, and other possessions. The bank started to ask for payments and the jeweler could no longer wait as well. To raise funds, HP sold valuables, bags, etc. The funds were insufficient and the bank had to take away what HP had worked hard to gain.

HP’s lifestyle changed in a matter of months. Now, she allegedly stays with family to save face, as she’s not ready for friends to find out she lost everything.

When Changed Man (CM) goes to work, he only has an allowance coming from His Wife (HW). He has no ATM or other cards. He brings his food from home or eats the food prepared by the production. One time, the production team realized that CM has not given in to the pressure of treating them to milk tea or snacks after the show. While other celebrities would be treating generously, CM would not, despite having various sources of income. When the teasing starts, CM would excuse himself to go to the restroom or some other activity. The teasing only stopped when a staff said that CM does not bring cash with him and asking him for a treat would be impossible. No one really knows why CM has no extra money on him, but CM’s reason saved his family.

Sometime ago, CM was presented divorce papers by HW. He was shocked and begged for a second chance. CM did not expect that his womanizing ways would reach the point that HW was ready to give up on him. CM was a generous lover when it comes to his extra-marital affairs, and HW found out that CM allegedly fathered a child with a model. HW was fed up with CM’s ways and was ready to pack up. By contrast, CM was not ready to have a broken family.

Faced with a possible scandal in his personal life, CM had to think of ways to show he truly loves HW and keeping his family intact. Thus, he proposed to HW to keep his money. He surrendered his cards so that HW would have sole access to his earnings. With the help of friends, HW’s heart softened and CM had another chance. Time passed and HW felt that CM was sincere in changing his ways. She returned his ATM and other cards, but he refused. CM said that having access to cash would lead to temptation and he would rather exert effort in his career, family, and business concerns.
