Outsmarting the Smart

When one thinks he/she is smart, someone else will prove to be smarter. Unknown to his service providers, Network Celebrity (NC) has proven that he is aware of his actions and knows the possible consequences of his decisions. Thus, no one can get one over NC.

Among his innermost circle, NC is known to be generous and a favorite of masseurs and other service providers. NC was earning more than enough to pay for the services he needed and even give tips to the point that he seems to be spoiling the people who have served his physical needs. His generosity, unfortunately, was cut short by the pandemic. Hence, he had to ensure the financial needs of his family first before indulging in such services.

As NC could no longer respond to the requests for aid coming from his service providers given the lack of work these past months as well as cancellation of future projects, what he had feared happened. One day, he received a message from a Service Provider (SP) demanding money. NC realized that he was being blackmailed. SP indicated that if NC does not send money, a video of the two of them engaging in bed would be released on the Internet. What SP did not know is that NC records all the messages he receives in anticipation that he might indeed be blackmailed. A celebrity cannot afford a scandal that can affect his reputation.

Instead of cowering, NC replied that he could sue SP and forward the text messages as evidence to the NBI. After NC’s reply, SP was never heard of again. For now, NC is assured of peace and quiet while waiting for the pandemic to be over and subsequent resumption of work and new engagements.
