Just Being Convenient

Network Actor (NA) has been placed in lockdown by His Wife (HW), as she has noticed that he would be out of their home nightly. NA’s excuse is that he would just be in a friend’s home helping make food packs for frontliners. HW was not convinced and suspected that NA might be having a secret affair with a female neighbor. As the legal wife, she should do what she could to protect their marriage. Moreover, HW stressed that NA should spend more time at home to make sure he’s around to take care of the young one, especially now that they do not have a nanny.

When NA was starting out, he showed much promise to be the next important actor of the network. After all, his looks were fresh, his acting was superb, and his appeal catered to women and gays. Thus, the network had that actor that could raise the bar for the talents. However, as fast as he rose, the quicker he was suddenly out of the picture. The potential to become lead did not materialize, as competition was indeed tough. Controversial issues hounded his career, as well, and settling down diminished interest in him. Thus, his projects were scarce and although he had acting jobs, these roles did not pay as much as mainstream avenues. With no work happening these days, NA could feel the pinch in his pockets, as his savings were slowly depleted.

HW, meanwhile, continued with her investigation as to the whereabouts of NA when he leaves their home. Her discovery was shocking. NA was not going to a friend’s home to pack goods nor to another woman’s arms to find solace. HW found out a hurtful truth.

Before HW entered the life of NA, he was with a Healthcare Practitioner (HP). HP and NA broke up when the latter decided to settle down. HP was also the reason behind the breakdown of NA’s previous relationship. HP followed NA and setup his home in the same village as that of NA and HW. HP is wealthy and works in a prestigious healthcare facility. This time, HP was giving NA an allowance to help him with household expenses.

HW realized that the nightly excuses were meant for NA’s visiting HP. Subsequently, HW confronted NA over HP. NA said that he and HP have been friends for the longest time and he does not see anything wrong if HP continues to help him out. Of course, NA would never admit that the help has strings attached, which are alleged bedroom moments with HP. When HW said that they could always ask her family for help, NA refused and said that he would take on the sole responsibility of raising his family. HW should not interfere with his ways so they would not have problems.
