Revealing a Burden

As a last resort, Troubled Actress (TA) thought she could rely on her family during her time of need. TA recalled how her siblings, who were then trying to make a comeback in the entertainment industry, sought help. That time, TA was among the hottest talents in the industry, which was capitalized on by the siblings.

Years later, TA had to make crucial choices for her life and career. TA dared to follow her dream, but the obstacles were unforeseen. Worse, TA came to a conclusion that the support she’s hoping for would not come from her family. TA felt being used, but she could not do much to change their minds.

The financial struggle of TA reached the point of her asking former colleagues for help. TA sought the assistance of Starlet Friend (SF). SF could only do so much, as her career has not been moving. Thus, SF advised TA to ask from a Former Lover (FL). TA was too proud to reach out to FL, but SF was not. SF approached FL on behalf of TA. Without fuss, FL chipped in a substantial share, which was almost half of the total collection. When SF was turning over the collection, TA was shocked to learn that SF took a 30% cut. SF said that she, too, needed money.

While TA is thankful for SF’s efforts, her worry is that SF might suddenly have an idea to use her situation for a fund-raising event. TA does not want her financial issues to become a public issue or a sensational one once SF decides to make an event out of TA’s troubles. For the moment, TA is only harboring resentment toward her family, but remains adamant on not letting the public know of her financial predicament.
