Know the Story

The problem with having a disagreeable image in public is that a minor thing can be blown into huge proportions to highlight that rumors about that celebrity’s character are true. Vociferous Celebrity (VC) found herself in the limelight after an incident was unearthed, posted, and picked up in social media.

The incident might not be as simple as the information fed to the public. Allegedly, the incident happened sometime ago. Network partners approached VC and introduced themselves as fans. The two waited for VC to be alone and without her phone in her hand before going to her. Brief pleasantries were exchanged, but VC saw that Female Half (FH) was reaching for her phone. Sensing that the couple might ask for a selfie, VC turned her back and did not bother to say goodbye. She immediately reached for her mobile and started to be busy. Male Half (MH) was still talking when VC stepped back. Thus, the partners left, as they felt belittled by the incident.

As soon as MH and FH were out of sight, VC kept her phone. Apparently, VC feared that she might be ‘used’ to gain clout for MH and FH. Unfortunately, given her reputation, no amount of denial and nice version of the story coming from MH and FH could protect VC from negative reactions.

Unknowingly, many people saw the incident. One of them relayed what he saw to His Superior (HS). HS then relayed the incident to another person until the story was picked up by media. Now, why would HS even bother to pass on the information to others? Allegedly, HS asked for a favor from someone in the camp of VC. However, HS received the cold shoulder treatment and did not get any response. Now, an opportunity presented itself involving VC.

Incidentally, MH and FH did feel bad about how VC treated them, but they were instructed not to say anything anymore so as not to make a big issue out of the incident. Besides, they will look like fans if they continue to say their side of the story.
