Justifying the Lag

Whenever celebrities make an announcement formalizing their relationship, getting engaged, or scheduling their wedding, celebrity couples who have yet to make similar declarations are given added pressure. While some couples prefer to keep their relationship long for their own reasons, others jump into the formalities leading to the big ceremony sooner than expected.

After admitting their relationship and weathering many controversies, Male Performer (MP) and Enduring Female (EF) were zeroed in as the next couple to make their union permanent. In short, the public has long anticipated that MP and EF would get married. MP is financially stable and is believed to have enough money that could sustain his living in case he decides to leave showbiz for good. His pronounced love for EF seems enough for her to give up her career for a quiet life with him.

A few year ago, MP was quoted that he might soon propose to EF, as he found his match in her. EF, of course, was flattered, as she found the man who could love her for who she is. They were just going to finish their commitments and face plans of settling down. However, such did not happen. No proposal was done and their appearances are already quite numerous. The question now is about why MP seems to be delaying that highly anticipate proposal if he is indeed comfortable spending his life with EF.

As predicted, sexuality rumors cannot die down and accusations of other issues are being talked about in the grapevine as to possible reasons why MP has been avoiding any declaration of the big plunge. EF is taking things as they come and seems not in a hurry to settle down. MP has been good to her during moments when everything seems down for her. She could not ask for anything more.

Now, their followers are worried that in case, MP does propose to EF soon, they would be compared to other celebrity proposals. Bashers will have a field day. Subsequently, MP and EF might be accused of copying those previous proposals. For now, EF might have to wait for a little longer until the excitement of such proposals dies down.
