Co-workers are noticing that Pretty Celebrity (PC) has two faces, one for the camera and the other with The Staff (TS). Over the years, PC has always been pleasant in front of the camera. She can speak her mind without being offensive and her clear way of responding to interview questions is admirable. Language is not a problem, as she has a good grasp of English and Filipino.
One day, Older Actress (OA) could not stand it anymore and reminded PC of her attitude toward TS. OA had witnessed several times how PC would scream at TS for the littlest of errands. Expectedly, PC would reprimand TS loudly to the point of embarrassing the assistant. It did not matter if there were other people in the room and she could be heard, as OA would show fury toward TS.
When OA suggested to PC to be more humane in her treatment of TS, PC said that the slowness of TS is irritating and is getting on her nerves. OA could only listen, as she could not believe that behind a beautiful face and amiable personality in public is a monster toward little people. No wonder assistants would leave her.
Later, OA found out why TS could not leave. TS had taken a huge advance in payment and staying with PC, despite the embarrassment, is a way to show gratitude. TS has gotten used to the successive orders of PC that she wants to done immediately. Of course, TS could only handle so much. OA could only sigh at the reasoning of TS, as she knows how to be in financial trouble and live a simple life. Hence, despite her success, OA has treated people, regardless of status, with humility.
These days, TS must endure more verbal beating, as PC is reported to be short-tempered given that she is undergoing a personal crisis. Allegedly, one of the issues that PC and her Former Lover (FL) could not agree on is the way PC treats assistants and helpers. FL came from humble beginnings and even a family member used to work for a household. Thus, he could empathize with TS. Unfortunately, PC did not change despite FL’s reminders.
