Keeping Options

When Restless Talent (RT) was starting out, he was among the lucky ones to have been given a break and even paired with Pretty Female (PF). Young as they were then, RT and PF had amassed followers and they even took their reel partnership into something real. However, both often denied they were a couple until the day they said they were no longer together. As fans were disappointed, the following of RT and PF started to dwindle. While both continued to pursue their careers, PF moved on and explored other career options.
Left alone, RT was at the mercy of the management for projects. The competition is always tough as the length of stay in a network can sometimes not be to the advantage of a talent. In the case of RT, he feels that he is not being given enough breaks to explore. Unlike his contemporaries who have done solo projects, regardless of box office results, RT continued to play second lead.
Hence, sensing that he might not find the growth he desires for his career, RT has been sending feelers to a station where he once belonged. He apparently has grown tired of playing cute roles and predictable characters. Moreover, he has no been given a role that could be considered as major lately.
Even if RT tries his best to convince management of his capability as an actor, he has a huge barrier to overcome. At this point, management is prioritizing the career of Network Star (NS), which makes RT and his colleagues receive lesser attention from the higher bosses. Ironically, NS and RT started at the same time and NS was hardly noticed then. Attention was given to RT at that time. Later on, NS was already thinking of quitting but things turned around. His timing was perfect and breaks followed. Thus, NS has become brighter than RT.
With NS as priority, RT is aware that his dream to grow as an actor might not see the light in his station, which is why he is in a hurry to explore other opportunities. After all, the season for transferring seems to be in the air. Will RT be the next talent to jump over the fence?
