Reflecting on a Possible Leap

If Network Actress 1 (N1) and Network Actress 2 (N2) get their wish, then they would be pursuing careers in the rival network as soon as their contracts expire. Over the past months, N1 and N2 have noticed that they are no longer the darlings of their station. It seems that the attention of the executives has shifted to Young Talent (YT).

Sometime ago, N1 and N2 would land projects one after the other with their network. They would also have exposures in the other shows. Lately, their projects are far apart and hardly the network done anything to push their careers further. By contrast, YT has had primetime shows and most of these exposures are accompanied by various features in other media channels. Moreover, YT only shares exposure with her leading man. Then, YT has her own recording even if she’s not a legit singer.

When N1 and N2 asked an official concerning why YT seems to be more favored these days, the response was not something they expected. When they raised the point that YT’s shows are just rating satisfactorily, the reply was that the order of promoting YT more that the rest of the talents came from top management. Besides, N1 and N2 already had their time with the network and their shows did not fare as expected. The two could have already reached their peak with the station.

N1 was disappointed as there was a time when she was the apple of the eye of a Powerful Executive (PE), which could have explained why she never ran out of projects. Moreover, blood relations do run with the management as well. However, there must have been a falling out, as PE now fancies YT.

To add insult to injury, in the latest endeavor of the network, the final cut had several scenes with YT, while N1 and N2 had very limited exposure. Now, the two are not exactly feeling comfortable with YT and would give her the cold shoulder whenever they see her. However, do not expect any scene, as YT is oblivious to the actions of the two, anyway. As feelers are sent to the rival network, N1 and N2 can only hope that their movement would result in a better career.
