Just Set Him Free
Much was expected when Adept Newbie (AN) was given his big break. After being noticed in non-showbiz projects, AN was given the biggest break in his career. The network was supportive and gave AN as much exposure to build him up. Viewers were responsive and AN was noticed for his talent and looks. Consequently, His Girlfriend (HG) was exposed and AN was proud to declare in public that he is no longer single. For someone who allegedly wants to become a lead actor, having a partner can be problematic. By being committed to someone, an actor vanquishes any fan illusion that he could be coveted.
The breaks came to AN, but these opportunities came at a price, which is time. Instead of spending weekends with HG, AN would skip being with her and use his shootings as excuses. HG expanded her understanding and accepted that the lack of time of AN was really due to the image. As time passed, HG noticed that AN hardly sent text messages, called her, or visited her. Worse, he does not even invite her to his events, even though people knew they were an item. During the screening of his major movie, HG was not even around because she was not invited. It seems that AN forgot about HG.
One time, HG noticed that AN frequently spent nights at the house of a Production Member (PM). PM has the responsibility of making sure that AN and company would look good and no shiny spots would shine on screen. AN would say that his location for the next taping is near the house of PM, and his decision is just for practical purposes. However, a woman can sense if something is fishy, and AN was not doing a good job. Before things could turn worse and events pulverize the self-esteem of HG, she decided to dump AN before he did. Now, AN is free and single, which makes him more desirable. In the meantime, HG is veering away from having anything more to do with him.
