A Preposterous Request

If one makes many excuses, the implication is that one does not really want to do the request or favor. Low-key Celebrity (LC) seems to be giving this impression to former Daring Actress (DA). Long before LC became more popular than DA, he was the quiet boyfriend waiting for the big break from a station. During their relationship, LC could not escape comments that accused him of trying to hitch on the popularity of DA. DA was already the favorite of the network and it was evident then that she was being geared up for something big. Things changed when DA became pregnant with LC’s child.

The relationship between LC and DA was tested when their child was born. The pregnancy and raising the child halted the career of DA, while LC really had nothing going for him at that point. He was relegated to playing supporting roles and when he realized that reaching the top would be difficult, he devised his strategy. For someone who loves the business, nothing can stop the fulfillment of the dream to become an actor.

From nothing, LC transformed himself into his new station’s favorite. The fame and fortune that eluded him were now within his reach, but this came with a price. The more he gained, the longer the distance became for him and DA and their child. LC became more aloof and antagonistic toward the press and anyone who sought his opinion.

Raising a child can be financially difficult, but it is the right of the mother to demand support from the estranged father of their child. Thus, DA would request LC for assistance in the expenses of their child. These requests often turned into nightmarish experiences for DA. LC has a condition when it comes to getting money from him. He wants every centavo accounted for in a list. Such list should put monetary value for every meal that their child would eat, every school supply, every piece of clothing DA would buy for their child among others. This tedious condition can sometimes be unreasonable, as the monetary support is not for DA, but for their child. DA has a career and has not run out of projects ever since she made a successful comeback. Thus, people have realized why, compared to similar celebrities in their situation, LC and DA have really become an estranged couple.
