The Convenience of An Opportunity

Choosing between love and career is sometimes a no-brainer for people who feel they have found the right partner. Similarly, when one’s career has reached a plateau and a long-time commitment seems to be the better option, then a decision will always be for getting hitched. Further, pride could also motivate one to make the lifelong pact. For a celebrity, undergoing the rites and settling down are moments that one could brag about.

When Talented Performer (TP) broke into the business, she was undoubtedly able to overcome a shaky family background. Her level of maturity is commendable, as she was able to rise above coming from a broken home, with her father seeing how Her Mother (HM) decided to leave their marriage. Instead of the typical behavior of harboring hatred towards parents, TP channeled her tragedy to explore her potential. She completed her education quietly from a reputable university and found her position in the industry. Soon, she gained her reputation and carved a name for herself with little help from her parents.

Although her life might be deemed stable, TP has had her share of intrigues. Her heartbreak was unavoidably covered by the press, but then, she bounced back and continued with her career. Opportunities came one after the over, both in the local and international scene. In other words, TP moved on. Then, the moment she had long awaited happened. Male Celebrity (MC) popped the question and TP accepted the proposal. With their well-planned wedding, they managed to keep their wedding private.

Equally respected in his field, MC has nothing more to prove, but to become the best husband and future parent. However, his life was his career, and the demand for his services seems to be on a decline. By contrast, TP had steady work and would occasionally have other gigs, as well. Unfortunately, this pressure seems to have taken its toll on MC. It did not help that TP was too close to her co-workers, whom MC had to understand. MC had to live with the way these co-workers treated TP. Coming from a different world, MC had much to comprehend.

Sometimes, TP would incur absences, which was normal given that she might have other commitments as well. Further, her marriage would always be assumed her priority. However, another reason was being whispered in the rumor mill. Allegedly, TP could not show up because she had visible bruises. However, TP could not tell HM, who has her own concerns at the moment.

TP turned to one of her co-workers who advised her to seek counseling. TP and MC might just have misunderstandings, and sessions with a professional could help the couple resolve their differences. As TP contemplated on what she could do to help MC fight his alleged insecurity, she suddenly had an opportunity to improve her career. Thus, between career and relationship, the former won this time. TP decided to fly away to escape from MC. Perhaps, distance from each other could allow the couple to find themselves.
