Honoring their Commitment

The production team was confident with its new project. After all, the producers hired one of the top and respected directors of the industry, gathered interesting come-backing actors, and prepared a sold storyline for primetime viewers. The producers confidently invested a huge amount to ensure that every production detail would be appropriate for the plot. Given that all the elements for a much-anticipated series were put together, the producers had high hopes for the series and thinking of high ratings was not uncommon.

When the initial trailer was aired, the plotline had all elements or drama and revenge. The actors were good in their scenes as well. As airing came nearer, the producers were optimistic that they had a goldmine in their backyard. Finally, the series was shown and as expected, viewers complemented the good acting, plot, and production value. It seemed everything was looking good and the competing teleseryes of the other stations had to watch out for the new series.

Alas, the results were not as expected when it came to the share of the TV audience. Rarely will a series that only has impressive actors and production elements survive the industry. Low ratings mean no advertisers and having no advisers means no way to get the return on investment. The producers were allegedly disappointed given that most of their TV and cinema projects always had very good box office returns. Worse, the few viewers the program has commented on the poor acting of one of the leads and later on, another talent was rumored to being restless again.

Lucky for the people working on the project, as the producers were concerned of their goal to transform the station to become more competitive. Thus, while the said teleserye might be cause of headaches, the producers have other projects that have high potential to win the ratings game. However, the producers could only do so much, as sometimes, the technical part, such as inconsistent signal, can also affect the status of a series. If viewers have a hard time picking up the shows on regular or non-cable channels, then the producers could probably kiss their investment goodbye.
