Must She Lose Her Spot So Easily

Whenever talents from another station make the leap to the other, expect the red carpet to be rolled down the aisle and confetti to fall down to welcome the said talent. While the station seems to be welcoming and rejoicing at the new member of the network, homegrown talents of the network have no choice but to follow the decision of the station. After all, they are talents and they do not have as much as in the operations of the station as well as in the direction of the programs.

After rumors of her impending transfer, a Big Network (BN) finally signed up Gorgeous Actress (GA). Similar to previous transferees, GA was given a very warm welcome, as indicated by press releases, social media posts, and a lineup of projects. Although the question of having an edge over the homegrown talents at BN cropped up, GA followed the instructions given to her.

Having a contract meant that GA would again be able to strengthen her financial standing and be secured when it came to providing for future needs of her family. Because she was already at a high status in her previous network, much was expected from GA. Moreover, GA had to show that she was worth every peso BN was going to pay her. Thus, she did much better than her previous stint in another network.

To increase her exposure as well as to endear her to loyal followers of BN, GA frequently appeared in a show. This strategy was successful as viewers wanted to see her moves. To increase interest, the production had Homegrown Talent (HT) and GA do special numbers. Feedback was good and soon, HT and GA were asked to do a competitive number together.

Unfortunately, for HT, most viewers were impressed with GA. This feedback fell hard on HT and thus, her interest to do numbers with GA waned. To hide her disappointment, GA started to evade rehearsals by giving lame excuses, such as she was not feeling well. However, upon checking with people close to her, the excuse was not true. Nothing was wrong with HT. Now, her fans are missing her appearance in the show and GA now has the fort all to herself. If HT continues with her attitude, then GA emerging as one of the top talents of the show might be possible.

‘Don't let fear or insecurity stop you from trying new things. Believe in yourself. Do what you love. And most importantly, be kind to others, even if you don't like them.’ – Stacy London
