Willie Revillame Ordered Arrested over Child Abuse Case

The Court of Appeals gave the go-signal for the arrest and prosecution of television host Willie Revillame on charges of child abuse and child exploitation.
In an 11-page decision issued by the appeals court 13th division through Associate Justice Ma. Luisa Quijano-Padilla, it said the Quezon City Regional Trial Court correctly issued the order.
Revillame was charged with child abuse after he made a six-year-old boy perform gyrating moves like male strippers in a March 2011 episode of his defunct show “Willing Willie.”
He asked the boy to repeat his dance moves and gave the boy P10,000. The host even tried to imitate the boy’s moves and at one point raised the boy on hydraulic circular platform while the host shouted “beer pa.”
The boy at one point appeared to have been crying while doing the dance moves.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development filed a complaint for violation of Republic Act 7610 or the Anti-Child Abuse Law before the Quezon City Prosecutors Office, which later on filed the case in court.
“There is probable cause for the petitioner’s commission of a crime, his arrest and arraignment should now ensue so that this case may properly proceed to trial where the merits of both parties’ evidence and allegations may be weighed,” the appeals court said adding that “the case had long been delayed because of the petitioner’s refusal to submit to the trial court’s jurisdiction and erroneous invocation of the Rules in his favor.”
The appeals court said the lower court followed the rules in thoroughly evaluating the evidence and factual circumstances presented before him before finding probable cause to order Revillame’s arrest.
Revillame filed a motion for reconsideration before the lower court but was denied on Oct. 4, 2013.
The court said Revillame’s argument that he has no intention of violating the law should be best threshed out during trial.
Concurring with the ruling were Associate Justices Normandie Pizarro and Samuel Gaerlan.

Consequences of Poor Decision Making

Their story was supposed to be a typical fairytale. Boy meets girl and they fall in love despite all negative forces. Boy and girl fight for their love by defying the odds and undergoing sacrifices until they are accepted. At the end of their story, boy and girl overcome all odds, get married, and raise their baby together. Thus, happy ending is achieved. However, similar to many former showbiz couples, Cute Actor (CA) and Favored Talent Actress (FT) had to forego their love, even if they had a second chance.
As things seemed fine in their relationship, trouble was already brewing, emotions took over, and they had to cut their ties. A controversial incident was easily pinpointed as the reason for the breakup. Yet, another story has emerged and this time, and the root cause of the doomed fairy tale was far more serious.
CA allegedly found out that FT went out of town for a secret appointment. Away from people who might know her, FT thought that she was able to do her business in a clinic quietly. Unknown to her, someone saw her in the alleged clinic, which has services that are banned in the country. When CA realized what FT had done without telling him, he became quite disturbed. On one hand, CA could have lost, but on the other hand, the loss could not have been his.
Although she was with CA, rumors are persistent that FT is a favorite of an Influential Personality IP. Her position thus made it possible for her to corner certain roles that have exposed her shortcomings in acting. Nonetheless, FT is still very active among the list of talents who get good roles.
Therefore, could IP be the one who actually lost it when FT went to the clinic? If that were true, FT might have done a poor decision. Years ago, An Actress (AA) was in a similar situation as FT. AA was subjected to the same rumors, which worsened because she disappeared for some time. Although she was able to reactivate her career, she again left and opted to raise her family, and as far as her children are concerned, Her Husband (HH) has kindly taken responsibility for each one. While HH has a low profile career, some are still questioning how they could afford to have such lifestyle. Speculations have it that the family is well supported by IP because AA did not take the same path allegedly taken by FT.

Hillarie Danielle Parungao Crowned Miss World Philippines 2015

Hillarie Danielle Parungao was crowned Miss World Philippines 2015 at the Theater at Solaire on Sunday, October 18.
Hillarie, who hails from Nueva Vizcaya succeeded last year's winner Valerie Weigmann. Hillarie will represent the country in the Miss World pageant in Sanya, China on December 19.
Aside from winning the crown, Hillarie also bagged the special awards, Best in swimsuit, Best in long gown, Best in fashion runway, Best in sports challenge, Miss Zen Institute, Miss Technomarine, Miss Solaire, Miss Figlia, and Miss Phoenix.
During the question and answer portion of for the Top 5, Hillarie was asked what her philosophy is in life. She answered that her philosophy “always relies on compassion.” “I believe that compassion can help open doors into many challenges in life
The coronation night was hosted by Tim Yap, Miss World Philippines 2011 Gwen Ruais, and actress Iya Villania Arellano.
Miss World 2013 Megan Young judged the pageant this year, together with Chavit Singson, Migz Zubiri, Fernando Carillo, Cris Albert, Celine Matias, Jose Mari Abacan, Kathleen Dy Go, Flint Carl Richardson, and Ma Francesca Tan.
