What’s in an Ex-Deal?

Business transactions are successful because of the equal exchange of goods or services agreed upon by the buyer and seller. Money is exchanged for desired merchandise or services. Now, what happens if one party does not have enough money to pay for the fee of a celebrity endorser? Through negotiations, some companies can be endorsed by a celebrity for tangible goods instead of money. Cars, properties, and gift certificates are the common forms of ex-deals in cases when the endorsee might not have enough cash to pay for the talent fee of the endorser.

As most ex-deals are fair, others are lopsided, as neither camp cannot break free from the non-romantic commitment with the other. For instance, when Pretty Starlet (PS) found herself in a bind, Non-Showbiz Celebrity (NC) entered the picture and offered what he could to save PS from further embarrassment. While NC might have good intentions for PS, others have remained skeptical. After all, NC has been caught in controversies with a couple of actresses, but these issues died down when the camps kept quiet instead of engaging the speculators in a discussion.

So, why is the story between PS and NC refusing to disappear from the rumor mill? Well, PS does not have projects, so her source of income to pay for the services of NC remains vague. Thus, stories about them being together are being floated. However, NC has denied that such is their relationship, as he stressed that he is happily settled in his non-single life.

Denials have been issued and PS has remained quiet these past months. However, the story of them being together outside of professional matters was once again fueled when they were seen leaving a hotel somewhere south of the city. The two were spotted at around the usual check out time for hotels. PS was seen wearing shades as she left with NC. People who saw them wondered if companionship was part of the ex-deal between PS and NC.
