Bashed for Her Lip-synch

Most stars of this generation, especially the big ones would want to step up and prove that they can be as multi-talented as the others. This explains why those who started off as actors also dream to do more in another field, like singing for example. But such is not that simple, it has to be dealt with with more commitment so as to be taken seriously. Otherwise, everything would turn out raw.

So much has been written about the alleged overrated musical achievement of a Singer Wannabe SW. The pressure is great on SW, as she has to prove to one and all that she is not just an actress, but like a few others, can also cross over musically. To be fair to SW, she prepared for it so hard as he did not want to disappoint her fans and her producers who invested a great deal on her. But it seemed like her good wasn’t enough.

During rehearsal for the album launch, knowing SW’s vocal limitations, the production staff did not want to shortchange the public and did everything to make her production number a standout. But unfortunately, no matter how much they struggled, no magic seemed feasible at that point.

Several hours before show proper, SW was supposed to sing her song live but reportedly, despite hours of practice, she still could not hit the notes right. At that point, the Muscial Director MD and the staff were already running out of time. Rather than risk failing miserably, as a last ditch effort – MD had to make SW do a lip synch of her song! They were already rushing so they had to drive out someone who was using the recording studio so SW could use it for her more important number.

What happened inside the studio was the least everyone had expected. MD asked the sound engineer if they can cure SW's recording through auto tune or synthesizing. But sound engineer rejected the idea outright as synthesizing it further would make SW’s voice sound like that in the cartoons.

MD was pushed to the wall – no other way but for SW to do that lip-synch. What's worse was during the performance, SW was not matching her lip movements right. Indeed, if the netizens’ violent reactions on social media were to be the yardstick, critics remarked that SW should just focus on her acting career.
