In showbiz, the word “diva” takes on a different meaning when used to describe the character/attitude of stars and celebrities. Showbiz watchers know that generally, the bigger the star, the more likely she will display high and mighty attitude. He/she believes that being a diva is a right that he/she is privileged to enjoy.
Ironically, it’s not just the stars who exhibit this but also the people who work for them as well. They are the people whose job is to make the celebrities look their best, like the stylists and the hair and make-up artists or MUA. Well, this story is about two prominent MUA in showbiz.
As in any profession, there are MUA and there are talented MUA. The latter command a bigger rate and are more in-demand or sought-after. Usually big stars and companies seek them out for their events. Often, these MUA are ‘contracted’ by the stars so that they (the stars) will be assured of their availability when they are most needed.
MUA 1 and MUA 2 are two of the leading names in showbiz. As such, both have an enviable list of showbiz’s who’s who as their loyal clientele. However, according to the grapevine, there’s an ongoing animosity between the two, allegedly caused by their attitude – one is bitchier than the other.
MUA 1 who is labeled to be the mean one is spewing venoms against MUA2, reportedly accusing MUA2 of pirating his big star clients. But MUA2 sympathizers are aghast, remarked that it was MUA1 who is to blame for his woes. They alleged that MUA 1 is far from professional, often acts like a diva, making his displeased clients transfer to other mua’s who are equally talented but are more pleasant to work with. It just happens that these annoyed clients go to MUA2.
Insiders alleged how MUA1 would exhibit terrible attitude during events and would just disappear even if the show wasn’t even finished yet. Reportedly, MUA1 would just leave without notice. His favorite line? " Time’s up! "
Now that he is feeling the pinch of losing some big clients to MUA2, MUA1 is now ranting, questioning the quality of work of MUA2, saying, “ Lahat ng ginagawa nya, magkakamukha na, “ referring to the made-up faces of stars that MUA2 did. To which MUA2 defenders are quick to disprove, and label MUA1 as very bitter. They remarked that between the two of them, it is MUA1 who lacks the Q - Quality and EQ. ;)
The truth is, in this day and age, there’s no room for big attitudes. The competition is so huge that anyone can be swallowed alive and forgotten. My bad!
