A Tiny Famewhore

This Scene Stealer SS has been called many names – really ugly names. SS came into public consciousness as someone who thrived being at the center of everything fab and famous, and loved the world to know. He was one whom even his so-called friends loved to hate for everything that he did and did not do. For them, his fantastic ego was just hard to take.

Many years and controversies later, SS’s image slowly began to look unappealing. Among others, his alleged questionable dealings did him in. Observers said SS’s popularity with the social class slowly eroded as his career took a nosedive. Consequently SS’s other ventures were affected, too. But the astute and crafty SS was not one to cave in easily. He took a career reversal, decided to downsize his ‘image’ in a bid to capture the mass market. Essentially, doing so would mean wider reach. Thus, SS ventured into things he never dared before.

The once intimidating SS was suddenly seen hosting television programs catering to his desired market. Observers say nothing has changed in SS despite his efforts to reach out to the ‘masa.’ The television audience found him unconvincing and trying too hard. Reportedly, their perception of SS was irreversible. Not long after, the show folded up.

SS’s annoying attitude was also a big factor that his fellow mainstays in his other program had to deal with. Allegedly, SS would discriminate against unpopular stars, choosing to introduce and interview only the popular celebrities and guests. The lesser names he would supposedly relegate to his other co-hosts. To his fellow stars and hosts, SS’s arrogant presence was so out-of-place, like a sore thumb. Not long after, said show folded up, too.

Nothing has changed in SS’s character for all the years that he was into entertainment. To this day, people in the industry talk about how his conceit continue to be a major turn off. They wonder why at his almost middle age, he has not learned to adopt to the basic proprieties of his profession. In many hosting events, SS would reportedly make sure that it is him who should have the most number of spiels, including the relevant aspects of the event. SS would thus assign to himself the most important parts of the program - the opening and closing spiels - incurring the ire of his fellow hosts in the process.

Talks have it that SS dreams to get product endorsements like some of his friends, such that he allegedly maximizes every exposure he gets. And yet, more and more talents/hosts allegedly turn down a project whenever they learn that SS would be a part of it. As it is, they said that "famewhoring" has no place in their profession.

"Characters do not change. Opinions alter, but characters are only developed." Disraeli, Benjamin

Veteran broadcast journalist Korina Sanchez is suspended for one (1) year by ABS-CBN’s program TV Patrol and DZMM according to an article posted by Bandera News, after getting the collective ire of the people when she criticized Anderson Cooper’s reporting on super typhoon Yolanda.

According to Bandera news reporter Alex Brosas, there were rumors that with what she did to the CNN reporter she was suspended for one or two weeks, so that’s the main reason why she is no longer seen on prime time news program TV Patrol.

Bandera reported that a much bigger sanction was given to Korina Sanchez, according to rumors, she is suspended for one year from her radio and news program.

Some netizens reacted that a one year suspension for Korina Sanchez is “too much” for what she has done. Korina Sanchez’ camp continues to deny the suspension issue clarifying that Korina Sanchez was just enjoying her vacation right now.

Based upon the latest statement made by Korina Sanchez on DZMM during an interview, she already planned her vacation long before the super typhoon incident happened in central Visayas provinces.
