When tv-host-actress (TH) started in the business, she was everyone’s darling. The press loved her. The fans adored her. People followed her from one channel to another, from teleseryes to movies, from one hit record to her concerts, and from one hosting gig to the next. When she fell in love, everyone was happy because the man seemed to match her personality. Their relationship has been rocked by a few intrigues and still, they hung on. When he did not visit her when she had to rest for health reasons, she was quick to defend him. It must be true love. That was TH ... then.

However, these days, some fans have noticed that TH seems to be growing distant. Unlike before, fans notice that TH gets easily irritated. Gone is the smile that they got used to. Even in her interviews, TH sounds defensive and no longer cares about what is being talked about her. There was one instance when TH went to a particular place, the receptionists smiled at and greeted her with their warm welcome. What did they get in return? TH walked past and ignored them. Even the guard quipped that TH was arrogant and snooty to the small people.

Will TH be able to reconcile her real personality with what she projects on screen? Let me rephrase that – will TH in real life ever be the charming, jovial, and amiable personality just like the roles she plays on tv and movies? These traits of hers were what won her fans over, and if she wants to keep them, then certainly, it would be a very welcome change.

The glamorous actress (GA) cannot be faulted for acting the way she does among the people she wants to get acquainted with. GA has a colorful showbiz career that began in her teenage years and spanned for a little over two decades. She gained popularity for her classic beauty and sexy image. She led quite a colorful lovelife, too especially during her younger years, and until now that she has quietly settled, her every move still stirs up interest among showbiz followers.

However, amidst the fabulous life she has now, there's still this one aspect that is wanting. Seems that no matter what GA does, the need to be accepted by that social strata to which her partner/husband belongs has always been elusive to her. She is often direct in her dealings with people whom she wants to get acquainted with. At one time, GA found out that a high-end fashion designer from one of  Europe's fashion capitals was coming to visit the country. She wasted no time and immediately organized a formal dinner for some big names in the fashion industry and extended same invitation to the said designer. However, since the fashion designer did not know who GA was, the invitation was declined. To save face and further increase her stock, the dinner reception got featured in a major broadsheet.

In another incident, GA tried to visit the residence of a prominent and wealthy fashion supplier. Her move was prompted by her curiousity upon knowing that the said supplier lived in an exclusively  upscale condominium. GA wanted to be friends with him and sent a dinner invitation. But again, since the invitee wasn't really that close to GA and didn't see the relevance of a dinner date with her, said invitation was politely turned down.

For those who know GA, those two instances are nothing new. For the ordinary observer, it could only mean her trying really hard to squeeze into a society that finds it difficult to accept her. Owing to her image and past indiscretions, maybe it is high time that GA learns to accept the truth - that trying to belong should not be forced, but earned.

Some talents of a network went to stage a show in time for a province's annual festival. The local press was invited by the organizers to meet and greet their talents. The reporters requested for an interview with Returning Actor (RA) and the organizers agreed and promised they would have RA ready.

At the appointed time, the stars were there, as promised. But the press waited long for RA to appear. The waiting stretched further causing them undue restlessness. They all sensed that RA did not seem to want to be interviewed. Good enough, the other talents saved the day, including a young controversial actress, who was very obliging to them.

The time wore on and the press got so pissed with RA's prima donna antics. They also complained that not one from among the organizers and the road manager even attended to them. You know the feeling if someone invites you to a gathering and when you arrive, you are ignored and left to fend for yourself. That was what these poor reporters' been through. And the only request they made earlier and which was promised them - to interview RA - seemed to be getting futile as time went by. The organizers obviously could not produce RA. But some few minutes later, lo and behold...RA finally showed up! The press was relieved -- but not for long 'though. For RA appeared detached, unfeeling and bored. He obliged to answer a question or two, then left, saying that he had other matters to attend to. How cruel is that?

How can RA regain his former stature if he treats people that way? Perhaps talents should begin to realize the value of out-of-town press conferences and positive interaction with each local showbiz media. The battle for network supremacy and star popularity is not only confined in Metro Manila but also fought nationally. If you're a star -- and especially if a comebacking one at that, like RA, this kind of impression is definitely the last thing you will need. In this business, if you don't go by the rules - either you bloom or get doomed.

Accomplished actress (AA) and actor politician (AP) were spotted enjoying themselves in a popular tourist destination outside of the country. AA has always been known to keep a quiet disposition amidst all the controversies that have been dragging her name. The latest controversy is her alleged affair with a former boyfriend of a more controversial actress of lesser stature. Rather than dignify the accusation, AA opted to keep quiet.

Meanwhile, AP is the opposite of AA in terms of his love interest. After becoming a single father, he has been linked to several young actresses, and has yet to commit to a longer relationship with any of them. Quietly, AA and AP were able to hide whatever they are building until they were spotted last week. While some social networking sites have confirmed their presence in the destination, here is a photo to prove AA and AP were indeed together. Hopefully, AA and AP finally have a lasting happy relationship.
