Major Clash of the Beauty Queens

Beauty Queen 1 (Q1) will have an online talk show that will be launched soon. On taping day, Q1 was supposed to stay only until 600 pm but she had to wait for Beauty Queen 2 (Q2). Initially, Q2 did not want to go because she did not like the PA of the show and even said that she will not go because of that PA. However, Q2's attitude peeved the producer, who demanded Q2 to show up because she already agreed to guest.

Q2 arrived late. Upon seeing the set-up, Q2 demanded to sit on the right, which happened to be the place of the host, Q1. Already irritated, Q1 said that she will not move because they have already taped several episodes and Q2 is guesting in the latter episode. Q2 responded she will not answer the questions of Q1. In turn, Q1 said she will not ask questions! Q2 then retorted, "I am Ms. -----!" The producer broke the tension and turned to Q2. The producer said that Q1 has already been sitting where Q2 wanted to be and the production was working with multiple cameras anyway.

The attitude of Q2 is so different from the attitude of other reigning beauty queen (Q3) towards Q1. Q3 speaks highly of Q1, even if her position is higher than the latter.

Waiting for the Better Man

Young actress (YS) and young actor (YR) have the most successful love team of their generation. Their partnership has generated a rabid bunch of fans, who are known for threatening other potential partners for YS and YR. Recently, YS and YR have gone separate ways in their acting assignments and love life. Their TV and movie assignments allowed them to meet possible love interests in reel and real life.

YR found his love interest in a very popular performer (P). In contrast, YS accidentally found herself in a new love team with new actor (N). The YS-N love team has generated its own share of fans. Then, another young hunk (H) is bent on pursuing YS but she just could not stand his smelly feet.

At present, YS is not interested in N or H. According to YS, her next boyfriend has to be even better than YR. As to what "better" means, your guess is as good as mine.

Beware of Kidnappers

Yesterday afternoon, my wife, son and Yaya went to buy some groceries at a supermarket in Sucat and while my wife was lining up to pay, Yaya and my son went to the “Funhouse” arcade near the food court. While my son was playing with a video game, a suspicious bald man, around 5’10”, with medium built and decent clothing approached yaya and was instructing her to give a piece of paper to my wife and leave my son with him. Yaya refused to follow his instruction so he insisted by bribing her with money. She continued to refuse with a louder voice which drew attention so the man walked away.
She immediately told my wife what happened and when they were about to go home, they saw him exiting the supermarket. Before they could point him out, he got into his car and drove away.

We reported the incident and they allowed us to view their surveillance cams. There we clearly saw that from the time yaya and my son entered the arcade, the man kept following them at a certain distance. Before he approached them, he made a phone call and started to converse with yaya.

Please take extra caution when you’re out with your children. Always keep them close where you can see them…no matter where you are. Beware of kidnappers!

Nice actor (NA) made a major booboo in his official social networking site. He posted the wrong date for the opening day of his movie. In fairness to him, he (or whoever is in charge of his official account) immediately posted the correction (but did not erase the previous one). However, what has been catching attention is that NA has been coming late to events recently. In a major event for one of his biggest appearances, he came an hour late. Is NA too busy these days that he has such lapses? NA should start moving faster than usual so he can truly live up to his latest nickname.

Warning to All Tourists Travelling with Kids

FP was sent a story of how a mother lost her two kids while in an amusement park in Hong Kong recently.

“The mother left her two kids to go to the washroom alone while she waited for them outside. When she realized that the kids seemed to be taking a long time, she went inside to look for them but the kids were not in the washroom anymore. The parents went to the police afterwards and the police told them that it is highly likely that they will never see their kids again.

There is a syndicate in HK abducting kids in the washroom. They would let the kids smell something that would make them unconscious. Then they will shave their heads, put a cap on them, and change their clothes. When, the kids are brought out of the washroom, the parents would not notice them."

This story is not uncommon in the place as documented in some sites. Some kids are kidnapped and sold, while others are made into beggars. The syndicate does not discriminate; hence tourists with kids are also at risk. The lesson here is that parents or guardians should never leave their kids alone even for a second in any place on the island.

More Questions Than Answers

How true is the buzz that balikbayan celebrity (C) was indeed paid a very substantial interview fee by a network? The original network, which wanted to interview C, turned down the idea when C asked for almost a million. By this time, more questions were generated by the interview of C.

First, the publicity said the male host will be conducting the interview. It turned out that a guest female host (FH) did the interview. Did the brother of C have a hand in this? The other hosts were disappointed that FH conducted the interview even if she was just a guest host during the show. Second, why was the interview geared towards an interest as to whether C had completed the reassignment? At least, C was smart enough to say that whatever is in between the legs is a private matter.

If you watched the interview over the weekend, do you think the interview of C was worth it or did it smell of gimmickry for the survival of the show?

Letter from a Reader: Repeatedly Ignored

Dear FP,

I've been using my prepaid number since 1999. I've kept this number because it's easy to memorize. Even if my family and friends have changed their mobile numbers many times, they still know my number by heart. But with the disappointing turn of events lately, I'm starting to have a change of mind.

My dilemma started last week of February. I was in the NAIA Airport last February 25 for my flight to New York. I registered for international roaming and got a confirmation. When I arrived in the US, my phone could not pick up any signal. I've been trying to do manual signal connection for days but to no avail. So I tweeted the customer service to raise my concern and they were able to address my issue and connected me to international roaming.

I came back March 12, 11 PM. Upon arriving in Manila, I deactivated my international roaming. I got a confirmation from that it was deactivated. Then, I immediately registered to avail of the one week free calls and text. The response says they cannot accomodate my request and I have to check this certain plan that is for postpaid account.

March 13. I tried connecting the whole day but still the same response. I called the hotline for support but told me just to try it again and again because the current promo might have high volume of users. I also tweeted the customer service and sent them a DM but got no response.

March 14. I got a reply from the customer after 25 hours. I gave my mobile number and they told me that I will be given feedback within 24 hours. I called the hotline again and they told me that a report was submitted for my concern.

March 15. I tweeted the customer service. My tweets were ignored. I called the hotline and told me that their maximum time for resolution is 2 days.

March 16. I tweeted the customer service but still ignored. I called the hotline and told me that they will escalate my issue to their supervisor to prioritize my issue.

March 17. I tweeted and sent a DM to the customer service but my tweets and DMs were ignored. Called the hotline and still no feedback on my issue from their support team. Promised to escalate the issue.

March 18. Tweet and DM ignored by the customer service. Agent from hotline still promised to prioritize my issue.

It's so frustrating that they have been ignoring my tweets and DM. I just hate that they say they will resolve the issue within 2 days but never even gave me a feedback. The least they could do is to acknowledge or give a few words about the issue. I may be a prepaid user but I have been using this for 13 years already.
