ReplyDeleteSpecial participation lang si Dingdong as this seems to be a very Marian-centric story. Marian Rivera plays a journalist who is having an affair with the President of the Philippines (Dingdong Dantes). When the President is assassinated, pumutok rin yung affair nila so isa siya sa pagbibintangan sa krimen. She will have a conflict with the Presidential Daughter (Jillian Ward).

Meron ding tropes na forever ang appeal kaya forever na rin siya sa mga movies at teleserye (bida vs kontrabida, rags to riches, etc.). Most stories are just adaptations of stories told before. The key is to tell it in a fresh manner and something that the audience can accept. Think of all of Coco Martin's teleseryes - ang basic trope ng hero ay standard, iba lang ang pangalan, characters at setting. Standard yan sa storytelling - may character na bida, may goal or purpose siya, tapos ang meat ng story ay ang paano niya malunasan ang mga barrier at problema na nagbabalakid sa kanya to achieve the goal/purpose. Kung mag research ka pa, ang If Only ay adaptation rin ng ibang stories. Original stories are rare nowadays. Even ang MCAI ni Dennis at Barbie, ang transmigration into books at rebirth or reincarnation ay fan favorite sa original IPs ng Chinese novel world at Korean webtoons.

ReplyDeleteUhmmm, journalists are primarily reporters that 'journal' or write from the field. Sa US at Europe, a journalist is a researcher, writer and reporter. Sa Pilipinas, napagkakamalian ang reporter bilang journalist - not all reporters are journalists at vise-versa especially if wala silang background sa journalism or research, lalo na social research. Kaya si Jessica Soho ay broadcast journalist at hindi lamang reporter.
