    2. Honestly, if one is not on socmed and/or doesn't read the news, NO IDEA ka talaga with the latest pronouns na yan.

Ang daming issues in life, uunahin pa ang pronouns?!

    3. True! Eh totoo naman eh. I too am confused. Tapos ganito they’re soo privileged and sensitive. Kaya nagkakaroon ng Toxic Woke ganitong bagay iyak agad.

    4. Dapat tayo ang mag aadjust, dapat educate natin sarili natin otherwise we will be offending them kahit pa it was their choice to be who they want to be. Di na enough acceptance lang need to put them in the pedestal.

    6. Not just straight people, I'm Bi and I hate these pronoun BS. It's getting more and more absurd so I stopped paying attention like everyone else kahit pa kasama ako sa LGBT group.

  4. I feel you, sis. I feel you. No one dare say this because they know they’ll be attacked. And sorry, but ako ikaw siya are nonbinary? I don’t think so. It’s just a general term bilang walang katumbas na Filipino word ang him at her.

    1. Yup, exactly. If you talk about this openly, you'll be attacked, and tagged as homophobic. Before you just call them gay. Now there's different terms, how do they know which of those they identify with? There's so many! They're confused and messed up. Old-school gay people walang ganyang ka-echosan.

  9. I'm with Ellen on this. It's utter nonsense. It's much much harder being in the U.S. and being a filipino, wala naman tayong he/she pronouns sa atin so for me, kahit I've been here for many years, i still make that mistake. And it's scary offending people. Unfortunately, we are rearing overly sensitive kids nowadays.

      Delete
    4. Nah. Just because some people find it stupid don’t mean they’re ignorant. They’re just to busy to care about stupid things like this. Using their/them is plain stupid and pathetic. Plural ang Their/them. Those people don’t want to be identified as he or she di ba? Why not use it instead?

      Delete
    5. Beh im part of lgbt but this whole pronoun thing is sooooo annoying!!! Maiintindihan ko pa kung sa govt/legal doc or formal setting tyo pero ung basic days lang, qhy do we need to be soo press parin? Just say whatever pronoun you want and thats it. Rerespetuhin ka nman kung karesperespeto k nman. But if people is still rude to you despite u being respectful, eh wag ka na makipagbardalugan sa kanila becuz youre making things worse for you.

      Delete
    6. Hay nako ayan na naman kayo. Ignorant agad. How about I don't think men cannot be women no matter how they identify? If I address you as a he that means you're male. Yun lang yun.

      Delete
    7. Ngee, it's also easy not to ignore logic and biology.

      Delete
    8. Youre more ignorant for being entitled 11:44.

    10. Dba yan naman yung sinabi niya? He or she lang????

      Delete
    11. woke alert 1144 LOL

      Delete
    12. Even before the woke generation, ginagamit na ang they/them kapag hindi sure ang tao if ang kausap niya ay babae or lalaki. For example kapag kakaiba ang name or androgynous tignan ang tao, if di ka sure if trans or bioligical female sila, some people say "they." Pwede mo rin gamitin ang they kapag you're talking to a random person.

Even Mo Twister na tumitira sa ibang bansa he uses the word they/them kahit isa lang ang tao.

They say that "we are pregnant" phrase to show support and claim that they in this together.

Re-watch niyo yung Love, Rosie na movie. Sabi ng babae, "Alex and I are pregnant."

So in short, pahiya siya at yung Pinoy mostly ayaw sa correction.

Language is evolving po. Just accept it.

      Delete
    13. 1227 is actually correct. Anything genderless should be called it.

      Delete
    14. It isn’t hard naman pala eh bakit pinipilit niyong gamitin ang their/them which is obviously plural?

      Delete
    15. 1:17 yung point mo is sablay naman. Marami na gumamit nyan to justify na pwedeng gamitin ang they them for one person. Yes pag truly unknown yung gusto mong tukuyin like let's say sa phone calls, nagagamit ang they. In that context, yung takbo ng usapan hindi naman confusing kasi alam ng both parties na unknown pa nga. Pero using they them specifically sa isang tao is just confusing. Example Juan is a new graduate. They are the valedictorian in their class. Kung sino man makabasa nito e mapapa huh?!?! Ako nga mismo naguluhan while typing it.

      Delete
    16. It's not hard BUT I CHOOSE to "learn" what's right. Otherwise, it is NOT learning.

      Delete
    17. 1:17 is correct and if you get it wrong just apologize and be considerate. It’s not something you just learn overnight. And it is being ignorant because ang dali nyo matuto ng slang words and pop culture word but when it comes to pronouns it’s too hard? The he/she/they pronoun is not that hard.

      Delete

      Delete
    19. im an lgbtq pero totoo may proper use ng pronoun. kung ayaw ng mga kabaro kung matawag na he or she eh d tawagin syang it! duh ang aarte!

      Delete
    20. Ler's keep it simple.

      Lalaki - he
      Babae - she
Di Tiyak o bagay - it
      2 or more - they

      Done!

      Delete
    21. Ibang context naman yung tawagin mo na they/them ang random person. Problem is na o-offend yung mga pa woke if they are called a different pronoun na they do not identify themselves as. Useless na tawagin mo silang they/them if hindi ka sure sa gender and they identify as she/he. They do not need to shove their ideologies down other people's throats to get the respect they need.

      Delete
    22. 1:17 , pano mo sasabihin in English ito using they/them for a single/one person.

"He/She has been good to me" .

Isang tao lang tinu-tukoy mo ha. Pero gagamitin mo ang they/them kasi ayaw ng tao na yon ang he/she para sakanya.

      Delete
    23. 1:17 kasing haba ng explanation mo na indi connected sa haba ng pangalan ng lgbtq+ and for sure dadagdagan nyo pa yan. Yes language is evolving but it depends on how popular it is used. You people keep shoving things into our throats it's choking us.

      Delete
    24. 1:17 -- I have a Ph.D in Applied Linguistics and you are not enccouraging what you call evolution of language. You are just an ENTITLED generation na lahat na lang nakaka offend.

      Delete
Language is evolving (and not in the way you're implying) but ethics and common sense remain the same. What you're doing is telling people that they are right to believe in their delusion. They are free to be gay pero to claim that they are actually women or men just because of their surgeries, etc., doesn't mean they actually are. Kayo dumadagdag sa mga mental health issues nila because you champion a make-believe that doesn't match reality. Pati nga pelvic bones natin magkaiba as men and women, surgeries nor hormones don't change that

How about those who were born filipino but are trapped in an american's body? Is that illogical? If you think so, then you're not being inclusive and it's also illogical that you're only limiting identities to gender only. And it offends people like me.

  30. I somewhat agree with Ms. Adarna. Why do we have to specify what particulars a gender has? Di ba pwedeng isang salita na lang for the entire LGBTQ+ Community (e.g. gay)? Kasi if we beed to be very specific, even among straight males and females maraming klase. Sa mga babae na lang--may girlie/kikay, may one of the boys, may girl next door type, etc. pero we all refer to them as straight girls. Just my 2 cents.

  42. I agree with ellen. confusing naman talaga. gusto nila tanggapin sila but they do not know how to accept others. for religious reasons, merong iba na ayw gamitin ang pronoun coz it's against their belief, they too should be respected. if you're really convinced you're whatever gender, then it shouldn't matter what others think. bakit kelagnan isaksak sa ngala-ngala ng iba. kakaloka.

    1. I remember one of our patients. He is MALE technically and biologically haha pero naka maxi dress sya that time and fully made up. I called him "SIR" + his fullname because it was his turn for doctor's consult; and that's the way we call patients with Ma'am/Ms. or Sir/Mr. as our respect. Inirapan nya ko hahaha and as I do my assessment, I still call him Sir. Pero natawa din ako kasi yung doctor addressed him as SIR as well wala sya nagawa. Before he went out, I even said "Thank you, Mr.______". Kinwento ko sa doctor namin yung nangyari and for her, walang masama sa sinabi ko. She even advised me to file an Incident Report pero hindi ko na ginawa.

For so many years, the gay community fought for acceptance and respect. I believe nakuha na nila to. Compared to the 70s-90s, ang laki ng improvement. The battle they've fought so hard might go down the drain.

  62. It's true though. And most who use complicated pronouns don't even bother to explain what their preferences are, basta2 na lang ma ooffend and will call you homophobic. I mean, kasalanan ba namin that we don't know your pronouns, aside from what is expected generally? Napaka sensitive ng ibang LGBT, but don't even respect other hetero genders' rights and spaces.

  63. Agree ako kay ellen. Though i understand san nanggagaling ang lgbtq woke peeps, sana instead na they take offense e they help educate. E yun lgbtq pano ba malaman na they dapat diba. Magassume na lang kami? As long as may respeto ang pakikitungo sakanila, i think ok na yun, yun naman ang importante. D kami lgbtq so you cant expect alam namin lahat. Lets just treat each other with respect and understanding

Even sa child psychology, pabago bago yung alam ng mga tao. yun dati di na applicable even formula used to be touted as better than breastmilk but we now know better. you know if you want to stay ignorant go ahead. but it doesnt hurt to live outside of your own worlds. nobody knows me here so im mot doing this for popularity but nakakahiya kayo ang tatanda nyo na and youre stuck in your ways.every time you feel like sticking to your archaic ways of thinking isipin nyo uung mga kakilala nyo na mga lgbtqia who are really good human beings and hope it will be enough to unstuck you in your obsolete ways. akonlang ha, live and let live. if it relates to you, do it your way. if it relates to them, try to do it their way. sobrang hirap ba talaga? ymif youre a child gets ko, but none of us here are dumb idiots. we can upgrade our knowledge and humanities.

  77. Actually, the ones who wants to be referred to as “they/them” probably has a multiple personality disorder because why would you want to be referred to in the plural form otherwise? It’s kind of scary.

  82. Its very confusing sa totoo lang. Obvious na obvious na people like these just want to feel special. Gusto nila may power sila over you, will threaten you with eskandalo and label you as homophobic just because hindi mo vinalidate ang delusions nila.

  83. Ramdam ko si Ellen. Daming eme.

  89. You can use whatever pronouns you want to use on yourself, but when you force me to use them so that it interrupts my way of communication with everybody else, then don’t get offended when I don’t acknowledge your way to validate your own feelings. Nobody owes you anything.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Use whatever pronouns you want for yourself, but don’t get offended if the majority of the population doesn’t bow down to your feelings. Life’s tough, get a helmet.

  95. Math has logic and rules. Logic is being taught in computer studies using binary, represented by 0 and 1. Non-binary of LGBTQ+, on the other hand, does not follow any rules as it depends on how “the person identifies,” which can change because it’s based on feelings. Therefore, non-binary is illogical. How then do you expect people to follow and learn something illogical and unstable? You’re human and have brains. Use it.

    ReplyDelete
  101. It’s true. The technicality of the word He and She originated from being a pronoun for Male and Female. However, the use of pronouns to describe someone’s gender identity is not as simple as that. The fact that majority here is adamant of any change means there is very little or no understanding of why this is so important for many members of the LGBTQIA. The fact that there is one prominent personality in the community that doesn’t support the use of pronoun does not invalidate it for the rest of the community. It would be nice if we can read on the reason behind. It is actually very eye opening. Remember, being kind, patient, and open to change does not have to end in mere words. Let’s try to do our part in trying to understand where this request is coming from. As for me, I know a lot of LGBTQIA has been shot, hanged, abandoned, and discriminated throughout history. If I can make it better for them by addressing them as to how they want it, I’d do it. It’s the very least that I can do to show kindness and love.

    1. Louder please. I'm straight as an arrow but yes, I would do anything to lessen the hardships that the lgbtqia have already experienced. Being part of that community from the get-go ensure lots of ridicule and rejection. Do we need to add to them? Between choosing kindness or correctness, for me in this case, which affects a whole human being and the sense of well-being, choose kindness. I know so many good people from the lgbtqia, so many are better humans than many straight people to be honest, so I know where I stand on this. Probably their trials and tribulations have given them more compassion and an openness of mind that many straight people never had to learn.

I don't mind whether a person is a girl, a boy, etc.

    ReplyDelete
