    1. Agree. Back in the 90s, they were at the same level production-wise pero Filipino filmmaking has become stagnant since. Hindi na nagimprove. It stayed at the same level. The talent is there naman, so I still have hope.

    2. Not just S.Korea but on an international level.

So gets ano target market sa Pinas?

    4. Korean dramas alone offer all kinds of genres. So many to choose from aside sa usual romcom nila. May mga liw ratings man sa iba but they still continue pushing for new genres.

  3. Don't worry Direk, walang manonood ngayon ng MMFF. Lugi na ang MMDA dyan

It's too soon.

LOL

  8. Last year nga ilan na lang nanood. Ngayon pa ba?!?

    ReplyDelete
  15. i disagree with him. what we need now is pure escapism and entertainment. and it’s an almost surefire blockbuster moneymaker. exactly what the film industry needs.

    ReplyDelete

    1. 1:01 almost surefire blockbuster moneymaker? As long wla pang lunas s covid, hndi lalabas and gagastos s mga ganitong bagay ang karamihan satin. Like youtube, games, netflix, asian drama, and many more.

    2. If that's the case, Filipinos will never be elevated and forever be stucked in a rut if you think that kind of movie is worth watching.

      Delete
    3. In another time, I would not be siding with you 1:01, pero in these times? Let's be real, natumbok mo talaga. This is not the time for Erik Matti's pa-elitist angst. This is Vice Ganda we're talking about - this is his brand of comedy! Yung gusto nya, hingin nya from others who fall into the category. People would actually welcome something that would bring laughs in these times.

    4. 5:03 hello, meron pong a lot of options to entertainment yourself in your comfort of your home. You dont need to risk your lives just to watch comedy movies/shows, ang dami yan s netflix, youtube, etc.

If MMFF really cares about everyone's safety, they could either postpone this until the pandemia is gone or go online.

      Delete
  16. Feel you Direk Matti but it looks like the MMFF organizers want feel-good mindless comedies to draw crowds and push up sales. Vice and his films have these qualities. After covid19 a good laugh may be the medicine moviegoers need!

    1. Nope, matalino na ang viewers ngayon. Bye MMFF, Hello Netflix na.

  17. It's okay to express your disappointment on the quality of pinoy movies, but calling out a specific movie, I believe, is not necessary. It's below the belt. It's not like it's the production team's fault that the movie was chosen. Maybe blame the viewers or the movie goers because they are the ones who choose what to watch.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  19. wala muna sine hangang December sad to say. All of us will be staying at home. Forever house 2020.

    ReplyDelete
  22. at the end of the day, yung manunuod pa din mag dedecide kung anong gusto nilang panuorin. pera nila gagastusin hindi naman syo direk hahaha

    ReplyDelete
You could do more to promote, at ung mga bashers na magagaling, un ang itopic nila at ibash nila para maging kontrobersyal.

    ReplyDelete

I am a fan of Cinema One Originals, Cinemalaya and even PPP at yun quality talaga. They will choose yung pelikula na tatawa sila. Lalo na at tuwing Pasko pa tong Film Fest.

Masyado na mahaba. Nakikita ako ng TL ko. Baka-mapapelan ako. HAHAHAHA

  28. Need to escape reality, okay go! But please...do yourself a favor and pick a quality film that is interesting and something new. Avoid the basura recycled films like the corona virus. Not worth your hard earned money.

  29. As if naman nakagawa na ng quality film tong direktor na to.

  30. Yung last year ni vice Ganda and Anne sobrang flop sa standards nila an pinagsama pa.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Quality entertainment. lol

    ReplyDelete
  33. Blame the producers who keep on producing these kind of films, alam nilang tubong lugaw sila dyan. I doubt na ganun pa din ang kikitain nyan since Covid is still around the corner.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Pwede na kaya manood ng sine by that time?

    ReplyDelete
  35. Laugh bilang medicine? Sino bang natatawa Kay Vice?

Vice has charisma to do that.

      Delete

Masyado kang nega direk e.

  37. why do people trying to put down other people, it’s people choose Kung ano ang gusto nilang watch. Dito sa America, ang daming trash na movie din, pero they don’t care, it’s up to the producers Kung may manood. Especially same industry sila, they will not put the movie down kahit gaano ka trash...

    2. 12:16 is right po.

    3. Wrong ka. The US make hundreds of movies a year so they have many choices. Their bad movies don’t make it to the theatres, just online where few people see them. In pinas kaunti lang ang movies na ginagawa so we have very little choice. Gets mo.

  38. MMFF is brazenly hypocrite! They are pushing for artistic excellence, cutlural relevance, and global appeal but look at the movies they select year after year. Vice Ganda's movies have none of those qualities but only have commercial appeal for typical Filipinos obsessed with tacky films.

    1. Dont think so. Boom panes na ang movies ni Vice. Last MMFF, mas pinilahan ang movie ni Aga kesa movie niya

    1. Quality & prestigious films don't appeal to the viewing public. They enjoy watching crappy & senseless films to entertain themselves. The Philippine movie industry is slowly dying. Great films don't make money anymore.

  40. I guess you can't let people choose what they want to watch kc masa ang nanonood kay vice. Maybe direk bend down a little gawa kayo ng pangmasa pero quality pa din.

What im trying to say is nagawa nila dati anyare at naging basura ang mga movies???

  44. I stopped watching news because its depressing puro nalang kanegahan. I stopped watching teleseryes because ganun din parang depressing din. I now chose to watch vloggers na nakaka good vibes. Pinili kong panoorin kung saan ako tatawa at sasaya. Let people decide what to watch. At the end of the day business yan for many if not all. They want to earn money and they sell something na bibilhin ng tao. Pero ako personally i wont spend for movies of bossing, vice, aiai, etc. Maybe i will consider watching vice movie only if its for free. I am for quality film at sana makagawa sila ulit like bata bata, tanging yaman etc.
