Claudine Barretto Thanks Mom in Letter

MANILA – Actress Claudine Barretto thanked her mom Inday, who has consistently defended her against bashers and even against her own sisters Gretchen and Marjorie.

In a letter she sent her mom last May 8, a copy of which was published in the June 2013 issue of Yes magazine, Claudine noted that her mom was always there for her.

“I don’t know where to start. I have so many things I want to thank you for & say. I am so blessed to have you as a mother. Thank you Mom for loving me and taking good care of me all these years. Thank you for being there when we need you & being my strength apart from God,” she said.

Claudine said that even if she were to live another life, she would still choose Mrs. Barretto to be her mother.

The actress also took the opportunity to apologize for the "many times" she hurt her mother.

“Thank you for holding my hand when I’m scared or hurt. Thanks for being a friend. I love you so much Mom. I thank you and Dad for giving me such a great childhood. I’m so sorry again for the many times I have hurt you,” she said.

Before ending the letter, Claudine said she will always try to live up to her promise of making her parents proud of her.

In April, Mrs. Barretto released a statement saying she had disowned her 43-year-old daughter Gretchen in favor of Claudine.

The feud between the Barretto sisters stemmed partly from allegations that Claudine was set out to "block" the showbiz career of Marjorie's daughter, Julia, although this was denied by Mrs. Barretto.

Subsequent statements made by two other Barretto siblings, Joaquin and Gia, brought up previous family issues, including one about Gretchen being the breadwinner of the family when she was just a teen.

While Gretchen refused to fight back despite the accusations made against her by her own mother and older sister Gia, Marjorie, for her part, said she doesn’t see their family feud ending soon.

Claudine has yet to break her silence about the controversy.

      agree with you anon 7:01. and as a side note to claudine, girl ok na sana eh kung chismis chismis lang about your prima donna attitude kasi your fans and people in general can give you the benefit of the doubt BUT that NAIA video is the bomb! you just CONFIRMED something na hindi pala ikaw ang totoong nakikita ng tao na mabait at religious because that NAIA incident involving you and your erstwhile husband shows the opposite of how true, God fearing Christians should behave in public. You are the one who ruined your own career Claudine. Not Gretchen, nor Marjorie, nor anyone of your detractors.

      @anon 7:45pm: kamusta naman ang makapaglahad ng kung papaano dapat umasal ang "true god-fearing christian." akala ko ba ang true god-fearing christian ay hindi nanghuhusga at nagpapatawad. nakadapa na nga yung tao, sisipain pa. akala mo naman personal na may kasalanan sayo yung tao. never naman sinabi ni claudine na yung mga kapatid niya ang sumira sa karera niya so baket may pangungutya?

      anon 10:40, i totally agree with you. but take note, you used the word "baka" natuto. now, let's review:

      - nag sorry ba silang mag asawa kay tulfo?
      - did they settle the issue in a manner that you can describe as "Christian-like"?
      - after that incident, did you see a single press conference when there is an iota of humility sa mag-asawang ito?

      ngayong nagkaka problema sha gusto mo maawa at pagbigyan at kalimutan ang pagkakamali nila dahil lahat naman tayo may inner demon kuning-kuning? i have a better suggestion, why don't they start admitting their mistake, which, by the way, was recorded and can be viewed in youtube. that is the start kung gusto ni Claudine na makuha ang sympathy ng mga tao. kaso nga lang it is her EGO that keeps her from doing so. now that what makes all of these brouhaha SAD.

    Kaya sya nalaos is because of her attitude..according to my source (a very reliable one) masyado daw pa star si clau clau. Napapack up ang taping kasi di sya dumarating on time pati mga beteranang aktres na kasama nya naiirita sa kanya noon sa dos. Tama lang yan para matauhan sya!

    YES mag staff asked Clau to give a msg for her Mom since ayaw muna nyang mag grant ng interview so to be fair sa mga pinagsasabi ni Joaquin sa Yes against their Mom, ayun nagpadala na lang ng letter si Clau. Not for anything but Yes mag siguro ayaw nilang magmukhang biased sa story nila. Hindi nga ba?

Bakit walang artista na nagsabi nun pa na ayaw nila makatrabaho si Claudine dahil may attitude, Kaya di ako naniniwala na may attitude siya,kung meron sana di na namayagpag showbiz career niya for 20years.

    wala na... I suggest that she should try another venture -- go back to school and do a course. When you are good at something, you gain your self-esteem. There may be better opportunities waiting for her in other fields.

    After that NAIA incident,who would take a chance on her? No sane agency would. She's a walking PR disaster. No amount of damage control can bring back her once glorious career. If d time comes that somÉone would take a chance on her,good luck nalg sa inyo. Her nastiness knows no bounds.Lalabas at lalabas kg ano ang tunay na ugali ng tao. This is a classic example of "no amount of money can't buy finesse,class or breeding."

    nobody's perfect. everybody deserves a second,third,fourth chance. hindi naman nakapatay ng tao si Claudine so why crucify her? you are not God para sabihing wala nang chance ang isang tao. kung may nagawa syang mistakes pinagsisihan na niya yun at naihingi na ng tawad sa Diyos.

    We saw Ms.Claudine yesterday at the fort with her son and parents grabe so pretty and surprisingly, she not that fat in person.tama lang. flawless ang lola niyo.happy ang aura niya is she in love again?

      unfortunately, attitude is as equally important as talent. ur right "she's one of the" kc marami na tlgang brilliant actresses today who can also deliver what Claudine can bring to the table, or mas mgaling pa. and besides, this generation is no longer about heavy drama alone, which claudine is good at. ang mga artista ngaun very flexible na, dpat pwedeng pacute, pangdrama at pngcomedy.

Di kailangan magpapansin pa nI Clau dahil bawat kilos at galaw niya binabantayan at ginagawan ng isyu..     The NAIA incident was a humbling experience for her and her family. Although the video did not capture the end-to-end story, it really put Claudine in a very bad light.

    I just hope one day she can redeem herself and win this war. Not only for herself, but her children as well.

    I luv & adore claudine for 20 yrs. now since i was 13 i feel like we have something in common just because we have the same age & we're both CANCER.I'm sure sometimes she has anger management problem but i can tell she's a good sister & amazing daughter.I'm so glad that my big sister(8 yrs older than me) is thoughtful & loving.Don't say anything stupid about claudine cuz i'm sure your not perfect yourself.

    I have always been a claudine fan until that THRILLA in NAIA, i stopped my fondness of her.. she's so violent, u can get angry without any physical violence..tsk tsk..she should take anger management course or perhaps seek counselling fro the experts on hw to cure her insecurities over small stuffs...
