I was more excited with the gowns of the celebrities than with the results in the recently concluded 83rd Academy Awards. I am sure everyone of you has a best dressed list. Here are the ten looks that I loved, in no particular order:

My favorite of them all is Cate Blachett in Givenchy. It's not the most beautiful dress in the world, I would probably ignore it on hanger, but on her it looks smashing. THAT is how you wear a dress. YOU make the dress look beautiful, not the other way around. Next to the divine Ms. Blanchett, everyone just pales in comparison.

Nicole Kidman - it's very seldom that I do not like what she wears, and this is one of them.

Hilary Swank doesn't dissappoint.
Dame Helen Mirren looks fab and elegant
Hailee is gorgeous, her outfit suits her, not a girl anymore but not yet a woman.

Unfortunately, Nicole Kidman's dress reminds me of old table napkins. As for Natalie's Rodarte dress, the color was perfect but the style underwhelmed me given that everyone was raving about it beforehand. Sabi nga ni DR on Twitter, she's expecting an award, sana umeffort lang more than that.
