My neighbour's wife is way better than these two films. In terms of acting, galing kaya ni Lovi! Pero di sa dalawang movies na Ito, mas maganda syempre ang A secret affair. Ikumpara ba acting ni Andi kay Cristine basura! Andi is an actress. Cr is just a trash. Alang talent.
Me too! Napilitan lang akong panoorin yung "A Secret Affair" because of the free tickets but my gosh, sobrang pangit ng storyline, mga linya and contrived ang mga shots. Di ko maintindihan kung pa-bomba film or they're trying to prove a point.

I agree! The storyline was terrible, masyadong maraming gustong mangyari, masyadong sinubukan gawing round yung maraming characters imbes na nag-focus na lang sa main story, eh di sana yun yung naging buo. Maraming parts na irrelevant. Tapos yung ibang scenes sobrang literal, yung iba naman OA.
Di ko naman naramdaman na nag-aaksaya ako ng pera sa A Secret Affair, entertaining pa rin siya, kasi tawa ako ng tawa. Winner yung scene na mukhang mas problemado pa si Paul Jake kaysa kay Derek.
Seriosuly, I'd go for No Other Woman, exact copycat, fully inspired sa mga naunang films at pinabongga lang ang lines ng A Secret Affair. They got to admit nakiride sila sa latest craze ng "kabet Extravaganza".
i did watch both and i must say that NO OTHER WOMAN is far way better. We even thought we could compare SA to The Mistress,but we're wrong. Secret affair was a disappointment. Not sure why there were Gossip Girl like scenes with maarte & bano acting friends of Anne which ruined the movie. Only the acting and lines of the main casts were fantastic.Viva Films shld knw bettr.

Ang kinaganda lang ng ASA (apart from having better cinematography ) ay mas magaling ang pagkakaganap ng supporting actress (Andi) kaysa sa NOW (Christine). Xtine is really a miscast of that movie....

Exactly my thoughts too. Hihintayin ko na rin lang yan A Secret Affair sa cable. I saw No Other Woman when it premiered in Cinema One and I anticipated it with so much excitement ... Pero na-disappoint lang ako nung natapos na yung movie because there wasn't anything really remarkable about it. Buti na na lang hindi ko siya pinanood sa sinehan.
Parang di ka level. magkaiba ang storyline eh. Pero ang hugot emosyon na movie talaga ang No other Woman at mas gusto ko ang batuhan ng lines sa no other woman, mai timing. Ang secret affair, puro ka conyo at ka artehan lang.
Okay naman both films pero parehong di worth it panoorin sa sinehan, tipong okay lang hintayin sa cinema one.. May pagka OA kasi yung batuhan nila ng lines sa secret affair, halatang pilit na pilit and kulang na lang mag pick up lines sila.. Sa no other woman naman, predictable yung mangyayari..
Oo nga, mas maganda storya, mas may sense... medyo dragging yung Secret Affair and medyo OA yung lines ng iba.. Pero ganda ni Anne and Andi dun... kudos to the stylist and make-up artist :-)
Almost the same plot, with both 3rd party involved but different scenario. Same thing. Observation lang.... parang parati nagfafashion show ang mga cast and pansin ko, bakitparati mga well off ang character? Gawin kaya nila ang istorya na ganun with settings ng mga ordinaryong tao, tutalmas malaki ang market ng masa.
At dahil sa asuggestion mong yan, magkakaroon ng pangatlong movie na ganito rin ang tema pero nde masyadong mayayaman ang character. Same cast: Anne, Derek. Ang title: MANG-AAGAW KA, P**A KA!
Dapat may fight scenes din sa palengke, complete with kuyug boys and usisera girls. Samahan ng mga classic lines like "Hayup ka! Tandaan mo, minsan ay pinaligaya kita!!"
Neither. di ko gusto role ni derek n tagakangkang. at dko gsto ung role n bnibigay kay Andi after nya manganak, role ng wild at mang-aagaw n starlet. sayang ganda nya. Sna mineyteyn prin ng dos ang sweet image nya, or if not sna hnd binigla ang audience s biglaang mature roles kahit alam ng lahat n d n sya birhin. with Anne, she's versatile. Wla ako msbe s knya, but I think No Other Woman was enough for that case. Hindi n kelangan ulit ulitin p ang gnyang role at story lune for her.
Actually, this is a no-brainer question. What can you expect from ASA when it is a complete copycat of NOW: same plot, same lead stars except for Andie, same display of kasosyalan setting. The only difference perhaps is mas trying hard ang ASA. Puro English spokening mga characters,di naman keri ng iba like Jacklyn, soo jologs!
Yes, bakit kailangang lagi silang nag-eenglish? okay lang may kaunting words, pero Filipino film naman ang ginagawa nila. Hindi ko alam kung anong gusto nilang i-prove!
TRIVIA, ang original GIRLS characters ng ASA ay sina ANNE and KC concepcion...di ko lang alam kung yung role ni andie ay yung kay kc... pero nagbackout si kc and pasok sa eksena si andie
di ko napanuod ang dalawang movies pero tingin ko mas may kapupulutang aral sa "my neighbor's". mukhang dinaan kasi sa mga paepek na linya ang 2 movies na ito. masyadong overrated.
Naki-ride lang ang Viva sa success ng No Other Woman kaya sila gumawa ng "sequel" which is entirely different from the storyline of the 1st Anne Curtis film. Mejo OA ung eksena sa party kung saan Andi's trying to provoke Anne. Di na realistic, makapag-batuhan lang ng maaanghang na linya. Derek doesn't know how to act in the scene na nagpakita ulit s knya si Anne. If that was Lloydie or Dennis Trillo, it could have been a perfect scene. Sadly, malakas tlaga ang appeal ng 2 bida at tinadtad ng sex scenes pra lalong kagatin ng publiko kahit pilit at OA ang kwento. I agree that The Neighbours Wife and The Mistress are better films than this trash.
Para naman kasing di pinagisipan ang strategy. Akala nila komo tumabo yung nauna, tatabo din yung kasunod. Haven't they heard of umay? Sana man lang may one year gap and hindi nagpaka-OA copy cat yung ASA. Tinadtad nila ng steamy scenes yung lead stars as a come on, it really failed. Hindi naman yung eksena na yun ang nagdala sa NOW kundi yung STORY and the DEPTH ng acting. I therefore conclude that ASA is a very poor copycat. Yun lang.
Mas ok sana kung itigil na ang mga affair movies na yan! It should be made known that it is not acceptable to be a mistress or to be the other woman. Making these movies just makes these situations look like there are acceptable -- NOT!

Anne Curtis acting is so much better in this movie! Galing talaga nya... kaya lng naman kinumpara ang dalawang movie na to dahil the lead stars are somehow the same as no other woman at yung tema ng istorya... but the flow of the story is different and much relatable than no other worman... Kung ibabase mo sa trailer ang movie, mukha talagang cheap and corny ang pelikula... i was suprised when I watch the whole scene na may punchlines.. it wasnt that bad.. actually kailangan talaga sa eksena yung mga linya... so i think this movie is better... andie has good and bad scenes in terms of her acting... and derek only have his left eye for tears...
I have not watched both films, trailers pa lang TMI na. maybe we'll see a CAT III or 3D version of another mistress movie starred by the same set of actors. parang gusto naman nila provocative, hala sige gow full frontal!

None. Story wise, same lang and not that good, parehong dinaan sa mga catchy lines. Parang yun ang panghatak nila sa tao para manuoda and not the story itself. But with the cast, mas okay sa ASA. Andi is better than cristine. And derek, hindi naman marunong umarte, for sure nakuha lang siya dahil gwapo DAW kasi.
90% of the dialogue sa A Secret Affair was in english, bakit? when the only time na nakakapagconnect sila sa viewers were those moments na nagbabatuhan sila ng punchlines IN TAGALOG. the other scenes were deprived of emotions. Trailer pa lang, i was bored na. if not for my friend na gustong gustong manood because of Anne Curtis...
ASA is the crappiest movie i've seen in the theater in my entire life!

Those who haven't watched any of these films should just refrain from commenting. I've watched both and I say A Secret Affair is the better one in terms of story, cinematography, and screenplay. Less hysterics and "cringe-inducing" one liners.

actually, I think it was Jaclyn Jose and Andi who were good in the movie, if you will base it lg sa trailer alone, akals mo Hindi bagay Kay Jaclyn ang role nya, but when u watch the whole film, you will understand why and na carry nya yung role, sandy ksi toy na parang nka shawl and pambahay outfit lagi role nya. N may mga scenes na you will discover that Andi is pretty pala, now I understand y Jake ejercito likes her, and there are scenes in the movie na natatabunan nya c Anne

The Secret Affair - wanted to get out of the cinema on the 10th minute of the film. It looked like a movie about spoiled, bratty bitches getting what they want. and what was tim yap doing in that movie?
Pinili lang naman ng ibang tao ang No Other Woman over The Secret Affair kasi sya ang nauna pinalabas kaya ang laki ng expectations ng tao for A Secret Affair na i-top yung No Other Woman. Kaya hindi maiwasan na i-compare at i-accuse na ginaya lang ang NOW. Kung i-level natin ang playing field at yung scenario ay hindi pa napapalabas ang No Other Woman. Let's say sabay silang pinalabas ngayon sa sinehan. I'm sure maiiba yung opinion ng iba against A Secret Affair kasi di ka pa bias. Mas fair yung labanan. Kung ako papipiliin at ngayon ko lang sila napanood pareho, A Secret Affair will be my pick. And may I add, kahit iba yung nag play nung role ni CR sa NOW, I think it will still work. Kahit pa siguro si Andi ilagay dun sa role ni CR bagay din.
Pero the best na 'mistress' movie sa akin ay yung A Love Story starring Maricel, Angelica and Aga. Critical and box office success din sya dati. Balance ang lahat-acting, story, cinematography, scoring etc. walang corny at pilit na one-liners at punchlines.

NO OTHER WOMAN. It has more sense. I love the ending too! I can't see the sense in A Secret Affair's storyline. So what happened? They hurt each other even more to the end? That's it? I was really disappointed. Nice lines, thought.
A Secret affair. Sa No Other Woman kasi they have to tone down on the mistress to avoid picturing Anne as the kontrabida, since she is the bida. There was no such effort sa A Secret Affair, kasi this time si Anne na yung nasa tamang lugar.

I like No Other Woman primarily because of the witty pasabog maldita lines, pero kung sa cinematography lang dn naman sa A Secret Affair ako.

Pero na-disappoint lang ako nung natapos na yung movie because there wasn't anything really remarkable about it. Buti na na lang hindi ko siya pinanood sa sinehan.

Wla ako msbe s knya, but I think No Other Woman was enough for that case. Hindi n kelangan ulit ulitin p ang gnyang role at story lune for her.

The only difference perhaps is mas trying hard ang ASA. Puro English spokening mga characters,di naman keri ng iba like Jacklyn, soo jologs!

ReplyDeleteNaki-ride lang ang Viva sa success ng No Other Woman kaya sila gumawa ng "sequel" which is entirely different from the storyline of the 1st Anne Curtis film. Mejo OA ung eksena sa party kung saan Andi's trying to provoke Anne. Di na realistic, makapag-batuhan lang ng maaanghang na linya. Derek doesn't know how to act in the scene na nagpakita ulit s knya si Anne. If that was Lloydie or Dennis Trillo, it could have been a perfect scene. Sadly, malakas tlaga ang appeal ng 2 bida at tinadtad ng sex scenes pra lalong kagatin ng publiko kahit pilit at OA ang kwento. I agree that The Neighbours Wife and The Mistress are better films than this trash.
ReplyDeletePara naman kasing di pinagisipan ang strategy. Akala nila komo tumabo yung nauna, tatabo din yung kasunod. Haven't they heard of umay? Sana man lang may one year gap and hindi nagpaka-OA copy cat yung ASA. Tinadtad nila ng steamy scenes yung lead stars as a come on, it really failed. Hindi naman yung eksena na yun ang nagdala sa NOW kundi yung STORY and the DEPTH ng acting. I therefore conclude that ASA is a very poor copycat. Yun lang.

Galing talaga nya... kaya lng naman kinumpara ang dalawang movie na to dahil the lead stars are somehow the same as no other woman at yung tema ng istorya... but the flow of the story is different and much relatable than no other worman... Kung ibabase mo sa trailer ang movie, mukha talagang cheap and corny ang pelikula... i was suprised when I watch the whole scene na may punchlines.. it wasnt that bad.. actually kailangan talaga sa eksena yung mga linya... so i think this movie is better... andie has good and bad scenes in terms of her acting... and derek only have his left eye for tears...

But with the cast, mas okay sa ASA. Andi is better than cristine. And derek, hindi naman marunong umarte, for sure nakuha lang siya dahil gwapo DAW kasi.

Kaya hindi maiwasan na i-compare at i-accuse na ginaya lang ang NOW. Kung i-level natin ang playing field at yung scenario ay hindi pa napapalabas ang No Other Woman. Let's say sabay silang pinalabas ngayon sa sinehan. I'm sure maiiba yung opinion ng iba against A Secret Affair kasi di ka pa bias. Mas fair yung labanan. Kung ako papipiliin at ngayon ko lang sila napanood pareho, A Secret Affair will be my pick. And may I add, kahit iba yung nag play nung role ni CR sa NOW, I think it will still work.
