But one thing is for sure, Dolphy has helped shape the entertainment industry. From tap dancing on tv and movies to being a tatay/lolo figure sa 90s kids. He is an icon and truly deserves to be a national artist.

He is busy putting a smile on all the kids, adults, all the sambayanan faces for decades, that makes them appreciate life it self. If you cant find honor on that, then shame on you. Being a national artist is not about awards, from the name itself, it should be a contribution to your nation.
I used to watch Dolphy’s movies and shows with my dad, who’s no longer here, so they hold a lot of fond memories. For me lang nmn, I think he deserves the award.

Whether they admit it or not, the criteria for National Artist has a big emphasis on the “moral standards” that’s why Dolphy is not approved till now. Because there’s no other reason why he wouldn’t be approved. His body of work should not be questioned.
