As Mandated

According to the buzz, if Government Official (GO) preferred it, GO would rather stay in the office than shake hands with Male Personality (MP). GO would stick to work than spend time with MP and be misinterpreted as being chummy with him.

Though not a newbie in the political area, GO found the position because of credentials rather than family name. Known as coming from a family of controversial politicians, GO stayed away from the limelight. However, GO wanted to serve the country but GO made sure studies added to the list of accomplishments and again, not on the reputation of family.

Having found a stable place in government service, GO was surprised to be in front of controversial MP. MP used to be feted in his field but decisions and alliances made him leave what he loved most. From positive perception, MP dropped to negative reputation in months. Soon, the paths of GO and MP crossed somewhere far.

The office of GO had to cater to the needs of MP as it was the mandate of the office. Given that GO already shunned politics, finding MP knocking at the door of the office was not something that deserved the red-carpet treatment. Yet, diplomacy had to prevail. Unlike other former high-profile officials, MP was not given any special treatment. GO did what was mandated and MP his request.
