  1. Magbayad ang Ateneo. At least 100M for each lives taken. Tapos banned na sila sa UAAP for good. The coach should be jailed for reckless imprudence resulting to homicide. Yun ngang doktor ni Michael Jackson nakulong eh. Hindi pwedeng sorry sorry lang. Unang una, may lindol na. Hindi na safe ang tubig. Pangalawa, walang life vest na suot habang pinapunta sila sa dagat. At walang life guard.

    2. Ateneo won't allow that

    3. Pay for the damages and ensure that those who were responsible should be accountable and makulong due to negligence, but Ateneo shouldn't be banned from UAAP. It's a different story. Palitan ang mga taong namumuno dito and the dynamic of their training.

    5. From coach pataas dapat matanggal. Pati presidente.

  2. Yes, kahit tragic accident yung nangyari, someone must be held accountable and charged for negligence.

    1. Unfortunately even if you take them to court, the monetary amount for accidental death in the Philippines is so cheap it doesn’t justify the amount you will receive as real compensation. Once Ateneo is done with their internal review, I hope they implement new policies and safeguards to prevent these unfortunate event from happening. Oceans have rip currents and rogue waves. We need to establish a color flag system like in other countries when the ocean is safe to swim or too rough to enter.

    2. Pwede isama as damages yung kanyang future earnings as a professional basketball player. Madami ng jurisprudence na ganyan. Isang medical student na naging permanently disable because of a bus accident.

  4. I can’t sense any words of sympathy and compassion for the grieving family, it’s just so bland, merely just stating trust in the involved institutions. “Habang may tatsulok…. Prayers, love and compassion for them and their beloved ones.May the Lord give them the grace to find consolation and justice in all of these…

    1. Totoo. Walang sensibilidad. Opinion ko lang. Also, I follow (some, like 3 of them) former Ateneo players and parang wala din akong nakikitang call to action or calling out what happened. Siguro too close to home, di nila alam paano magreact.

    2. Yun coach nga and the people behind the training nagtago na eh.

Tsk tsk tsk. Iba talaga pag mayaman and influential their silence is defeaning…

  8. Reckless Imprudence Resulting in Homicide, RA Article 365. It doesnt matter if there was no motive. Negligence, the presence of risks without due diligence and protection resulting to death is enough - kahit na may waiver pa sila ni sign. 2 deaths enough to show that the actions of ADMU and their coaching team led these 2 promising athletes to their deaths. May imbalance of power present - susunod ang bagong recruit na mga atleta sa coach nila - that is standard behavior in a team hierarchy. They were like sheep led to slaughter.

  9. Not showing sympathy in your words GH. The pain in the grief of the families is palpable. These deaths were preventable.
