    1. Bakit hindi? She has Filipino parents. Buti nga, not like Gretchen Barretto's daughter, who also has Filipino parents but can't speak Filipino well. Ang excuse ni Greta is, sa British International School daw kasi nag-aral.

    3. 12:56 dominique is not fluent in tagalog pala? I had classmates in college who studied in ISM and BSM and matatas naman mag tagalog. For me, very tryhard kapag sa pilipinas ka lumaki yet you can’t speak tagalog fluently 🤷‍♀️ Kudos to Atasha!

    4. Natawa nga ako sa mga nakatira sa Pilipinas sabay hindi marunong mag Tagalog. Sorry but it doesn't make you sosyal or cool to not know the language of the country you live in.

    5. Pag new rich kasi akala nila nakakasosyal pag English lang alam ng bata. These days, being multilingual is an edge.

    7. If you grew up in a province where a dialect is more widely spoken, it's understandable to speak English and your dialect more. Textbook Tagalog would be learned and a bit awkward to use conversationally to some. But Dom grew up in Manila. How pretentious to say she can't speak Tagalog. How'd she talk to the help? Even to wait staff and tinderas, don't you make an effort to speak Tagalog?

    8. British School din si Atasha pero fluent sila magtagalog ng mga friends niya.

    9. Remember it isn't always the kids' choice. Andami sa atin na pinalaki at pinapalaki na panay English lang (kahit na di mayaman) kasi nakakatalino daw. Kaya madaming bata nahihirapan sa eskwelahan kapag Filipino na ang subject.

    12. @4:22 Korek! Mismo!
It doesn't make them better than the rest of us.
Ang saya kaya maging bi or multi-lingual.

    13. 12:56 There's this video of hers on YT where she reads a tagalog comment with an accent...

4:22 Ikr. New personality unlocked? Haha. Idk what's with their parents too for not teaching their kids Filipino? I used to be in an online community for a KPOP group, wherein majority of the Korean to English translators there were Korean-Americans. I admire them for being very fluent in Korean although they were raised in a foreign country which native language is English.

I guess it's safe to say that, that isn't the case for most of the Filipinos (who has at least one Filipino parent) who grew up in a majority English-speaking country.
