    2. It is done in some Southeast Asian nations. But in those big countries, it is unheard of. Just charge it to Sick Leave.

    4. May point si ping, babae ako, pero I know OA yung mga nang bash s kanya, I KNOW HOW IT FEELS! Pero if I’m running a bussiness eh di puro boys na lang kukunin ko kasi mas efficient na sila lumalabas kesa sa babae.

    5. This actually send women back.. An interview here in UK was done with business men and company owners. They were ask if two applicants for the same position with the same qualifications, which would you hire, a male or female. All answered male as they business wise, they will get the same job done without dealing with monthly leave and pay for not being at work. This may be applicable if you are medically signed to have extreme pain and bleeding. Otherwise, it is viewed again as deterrent for women applying for job and raise. I am a woman and having bad periods due to growth in my ovaries but I do not like this bill.

Papakita mo pads mo? Kaloka!

    7. those countries can afford them. sa ibang bansa, yung binabayad sa leaves in-earn na yan ng employee, nabawas na yan sa sahod bukod sa tax. where i am at kapag sick leave from day 2 govt na nagbabayad sa kin. do we really think kaya yan sa pilipinas?

    8. This bill discriminates against males. I'm a female, and I don't agree with Ping's proposed law. If menstruation cramp is so severe and debilitating, the female worker can call-in sick.

    9. 1:21, it is not being feminist. Mahirap talaga ang magauffer from dysmenorrhea. Eversince I started my menstruation I suffered from dysmenorrhea and I still do until now even after having 3 kids.

Truth be told, I would rather work than be on leave and suffer from dysmenorrhea. Hindi lang cramps nararamdaman mo, may kasama pang headache and diarrhea.

1:09. it wouldn’t be fair nga naman to charge it to sick leave. Pareho lang naman ang dami ng sick leave ng babae at lalaki and yet at a disadvantage ang babae. Take my case for instance, imagine every month nagkaka-dysmenorrhea ka so that’s 12 days agad tapos you are left with 3 days, so kung nagka-flu ka or worse, nagka Covid, kulang pa ang sick leave mo na kung tutuusin, hindi mo naman kasalanan na naubos ang 12 days mo.

    10. This is absolutely ridiculous!! A “menstrual leave”?!..what’s next? LBM leave?🙄

Take a sick leave.

Imagine having female employees na pwedeng mawala ng 2-5 days dahil dinudugo, on top of regular sick days. And wag tayong paka-plastic ha? It happens!

      Delete
Buwan buwan mahirap e cover yung leave ah.

Wala pa ring ibang bansa n may menstrual leave.. sino nakaisip nun??

    4. 1) Where did you get 4 days, based ba sa period cycle mo? The bill states "up to two days". Pwedeng I-Google.

It's not an outrageous concept; even a workaholic country like Korea practices it.

      3) Babae din ako, and I suffer from menorrhagia. There are times when I have non-stop heavy bleeding for weeks, binigyan na ako ng iron supplements nang hindi ako maging anemic and reseta for tranexamic acid to finally stop the bleeding dahil hindi kaya ng katawan ko to do it. Although it can be hard, my condition does not stop me from working. So it would be nice if people can start being more considerate to other women, to think hindi pa tapos ang Women's Month.

But that is up to them. Why should a few bad apples spoil the bunch, eh marami pa din naman sa atin ang maayos ang work ethics?

One day UNPAID sa Korea, up to 2 days partial pay/unpaid sa Japan.

It’s just a cycle. Sandali lang ok pakiramdam ko after blood transfusion. After the heavy painful flow, ayan na naman.

    13. Hindi niyo alam ano magiging cause nito? More women will not get jobs. What a joke.

Bibigyan ka lang ng mental health card, tapos mageexpect na back to normal lang.

    7. 2:25, I’m pretty sure nakaranas or nakakaranas din ng ganun si 11:52, eh pano yung mga babae na hindi lang 2 or 4 days magka menstrual period merong inaabot ng 5-7 days, kung gusto mo ng ganung “menstrual leave” mag move out ka na ng Pinas ‘teh…it’s such a stupid kind of leave

    8. As a business owner, do you also find the 2 months maternity leave unfair? Seryosong tanong.

      Delete
    9. 12:01 Menstrual leave ang topic, hindi maternity leave. Wag mo ilihis.

      Delete
    10. 12:01 konting alog ng utak. Iba naman ang maternity leave. Ah wait, alam mo ba meaning ng maternity ?! 😂

    12. Ang maternity leave, napaplano ang cover well in advance.

How do I justify paying the same across men and women of the same rank and position pero yung lalake mas efficient dahil 75-80% lang ang work ng babae every month dahil sa kabuwanan?!?

As a business owner ha. 😂

    3. 12:45 I get it. I have a hormonal condition too. But you also have to understand na hindi lahat ng babae eh may issues gaya natin, so maaabuso talaga. Meron nga ring hindi nagkakaperiod or under forced menopause because of health issues. Don’t you think it’s also unfair for the company?

      Delete
    4. So that means you have to prove you have pcos. Women will take advantage of it and pay a doctor to certify na may pcos sila. Vicious cycle.

      Delete
    5. I agree. Not to disregard what we go through when we have our period, it can be painful and stressful, but this law is bound to be abused. How can you tell if your employee has her period? How can she prove it? Do employers have keep track of all of their employees’ menstrual cycles? Some of us don’t even get regular periods. Parang ang hirap ata nito. Some companies might opt to hire more men instead

    1. How can you prove you’re having painful cramps? Im a woman and
i suffered from it when I was in my teens but I took midol and powered through. After giving birth to my daughter, it completely went away. As a woman and a mom of a female who deals with this
monthly, this is too much to ask from your employers. What are we being reduced to as a society? We’re teaching kids to be whiny and lazy!

      Delete
Less job for them. Sabi ng isang CEO ng tech company, she'll employ men rather than women. Cuz men stay longer at work than women.

      Delete
    3. 1:34, I don’t agree with “teaching kids to be whiny and lazy”. Iba-iba ang severity ng dysmenorrhea.

If taking Midol helps you then it is not as bad as you make it to be. I suffered from dysmenorrhea then and I still do now even after having 3 kids. Hindi lang cramps but may migraine headache and diarrhea pa. Endometriosis and fibroids have been ruled out. Most likely genetics since my mom suffered from it and my daughter is suffering from it too.

There are others whose conditions are worse. In one of the companies I worked for, I had a colleague who would faint at work. If you have not experienced this, then you are not in a position to speak because you don’t understand where other women are coming from.

      Delete
    4. If this passes as a bill, I wouldn’t hire women. Plain and simple. You can’t really expect equality when you require special treatment like this. Stay at home.

Sana hindi nyo maranasan kasi you would not wish it to happen to yourself or someone you love. Pain from endometriosis and adenomyosis is real. It is debilitating.

      Delete
    2. Anong odd? I almost died when I had a ruptured ectopic pregnancy. I lost consciousness because of blood loss and kailangan ma stretcher and ambulance sa hospital. More than 2L yung blood loss and I had to be given 4 bags of blood. When I my OB told me that I can take a maternity leave I was very grateful because it gave me time to heal from the physical and emotional trauma.

Until napagdaanan mo yan, wag ka kumuda.

    2. i am helping managing a local business. nakakaloka naman talaga. 105 days ang maternity leave (w pay) pwde pa nilang iextend, wala pang limit to! hahanap kami to cover her habang wala siya. wala naman sanang problema pero malaki ang increase this year ng SSS contributions. hirap na din ang mga EMPLOYERS to stay afloat. kaya hndi maiiwasan to pick male applicant kesa sa female.

  22. Isn’t this the same as sick leave?
What I’d really like to see is affordable and non-tax on menstrual items kasi mahal every month.

I'd rather go to work kesa mamilipit sa menstrual cramps sa bed. Grabe inaabot ko sa muscle pains. Tapos sobrang dizzy pa ako pag tumatayo kasi nauubusan ako ng dugo. Mag isa pa naman ako nakatira sa apartment so I have to take care of myself alone.

  32. I know it looks appealing pero madami downsides yan. Let's be honest, maraming mang-aabuso diyan.

    ReplyDelete
  33. So ano next, girls with period sa schools aabsent na din??? I know mga rights rights pero everyone needa to chill

    ReplyDelete
  34. If this will get approved, malaki ang chance na di na maghire ng babae ang mga corporate. I always have bad symtopms during my period pero usually 1 day lang. kung ipupush nila, pwede siguro 1 day but not 4 days! Natiis nga for so long na walang ganyan eh!

  35. Employee mentality kasi ang mga Pinoy instead of entrepreneurial mentality kaya laging what’s in it for me ang iniisip. If you have the mind of an entrepreneur, hiring women would cost you more than hiring men because they’ll be paid 24 days for the menstrual leave every year on top of the 90 day maternity leave.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Sa dami ng holidays dyan sa PH??? Also, may sick leave naman?

    ReplyDelete
Not paid dapat pero give more unpaid sick days.

  40. It all boils down to the kind of employees you have. Admittedly, madaming Pinoys ang mahilig mag-petiks or makwenta kaya tinatake advantage or inaabuso ang leave. This is one reason why I don’t like having a Filipino in my team.

The firm I work for now is very understanding with this health issue. We are allowed to work from home when we are suffering from dysmenorrhea. Funny enough, I don’t see any of my colleagues use this as an excuse to work from home. Most of us rarely take sick leave and cannot even use up our annual leave.

  50. I think ok naman na parang sick leave, kung ok ka pa din during periods you can go to work, pero if its too bad you can take the day/s off. Its more recognising that period pains can be incapacitating kasi dati its unheard of to even take days off "just because" of period pains

    ReplyDelete
  51. Maybe it’s better to extend sick leave rather than make menstrual leave. I think everyone- May matres or Wala maapreciate yun.

  52. When I reached 30's, humina na ang menstrual cramps ko. So many factors to consider. 1. Maaga ako nagka-start mag mens, at the age of 10 ang first period ko. Baka dahil dun, maaga rin ako mag menopause.
    2. I have PCOS. I take pills.
    3. Like I said, 30 na ako.

I'm torn sa issue na to kasi as a woman na every month nakakaexperience ng sobrang menstrual pain as in gusto ko lang humiga dahil parang may malaking bagay na malalaglag sa ano ko pag nakatayo super heavyflow din ako especially sa 2nd day na para akong umiihi sa lakas na ilang beses ko na naexperience umuwi ng duguan at tagus tagusan, severe headache napakairitableng pakiramdam bago ung mismong period pero at the same time malaki talaga ang chance na abusuhin ito siguro dapat lagyan ng provisions since di naman lahat same ng experience may mga girls na parang wala lang nakakapaggym pa during period and merong 3 days lang nagkaroon na parang wala lang at meron ding irregular na di naman buwan buwan nagkakaroon, i know kasi may mga ganun akong nakatrabaho especially ung mga bagets bagets pa and I envy them for that.

Light bleeder din ako, yung menstrual cup ko never napupuno kahit after 12 hrs

  54. In the long run, companies will think twice of hiring women. Siguro need more pag-aralan to, i think if you are truly experiencing in pain and with medical cert, pwede!

    ReplyDelete
  55. If they will push for this, mga babae din ang kawawa kase hindi sila iha hire ng companies. Meron na din namang Magna Carta for women, that covers reproductive health ng mga babae. And lastly, being physically fit should always be a requirement sa pagtratrabaho, so if you are a person na monthly o weekly o regularly na nagkakasakit, better prioritize your health muna than work.

    1. 10:55 I don’t think out of touch si lacson, sadyang umiiral lang ang entitlement mentality ng ibang tao. Look at the big picture. Ako as an employer (and babae ako), I would really opt to hire male employees pag ganyan.

I’m a woman too but..”. Just because hindi nyo na-experience doesn’t mean na invalid ang concern. Imagine babae ka at dapat mas alam mo ang condition ng ibang babae tapos kung mag isip ka parang lalaki na akala mo sobrang unfair ng laws that look out for your well being. Nakakalungkot!!

    ReplyDelete
  61. pwede naman menstrual leave but if ipupush yung with pay baka maging reason pa to for other companies not to hire females in the future

    ReplyDelete
THEN DONT FILE FOR A MENSTRUAL LEAVE. Those with debilllitating dysmenorrhea can opt to avail of this. Nasa batas naman na dapat may med cert.

    ReplyDelete
  63. May punto naman po... sana wag puro pakabig... may sick leave benefit naman if in case one need to rest due to dysmenorrhea... additional paid leave will cost too much for business owners specially for small businesses... sana maunawaan din natin... generally Philippines has the most number of paid holidays... wag na natin idagdag ang menstrual leave sa bayarin ng mga business owners...

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  67. There are some cases where it is necessary, as in the case of women who have endemetriosis or severe dysmenorhhea. I will not advocate for a paid leave but to replace it with overtime or flexible replacement day, even consider it as sick leave without negative consequence.

Putting it in law as a paid leave will encourage abuse by women who don't need it and it will also cause companies to discriminate more against women in hiring, which is a backward move in our effort to let women be competitive in positions dominated by men.
