Kapuso actress Bea Alonzo happily announced yesterday that she is now a legal resident of Spain after making a real estate investment of at least 500,000 euros (approximately P30 million) in an apartment in Madrid.

Bea looked radiant and refreshed as she and Alden Richards arrived in Cebu City to promote Start-Up PH which will have its last few episodes in December.

The actress said she just came from long vacation in Europe and the highlight is her getting the  Golden Visa, a loose term for the Spanish Government’s Residency by Investment (RBI) program.

“Galing ako sa isang mahabang bakasyon. 26 days, almost a month. Kakauwi ko lang this week from Europe. The reason why I went there was because I wanted to get my Golden Visa to Spain, so am now a resident of Spain,” Bea revealed.

As a Spain resident, Bea is not required to stay in Spain but she can travel visa- free through the Schengen area of the European Union. This benefit can extend to her mom, Mary Anne.

Bea can also work in the continent and apply for citizenship after two years.

“Yung Spanish government kasi, if you have a certain amount to invest sa real property nila,  you will be granted a Golden Visa which means you are automatically a resident. After two years, you can apply for citizenship which am not gonna of course, but, at least, there is that option,” Bea narrated.

“I’ve always been fascinated with the idea of living abroad. But not because I already have a place there doesn’t mean doon ako titira. Of course, am gonna live here (Philippines). It just so happened that I love Madrid, I love Spain and I have a lot of friends there,” the actress added.

We asked Bea if she is interested to work in Europe as an actress and she said she can consider it “but it’s not something I’ll be actively pursuing.”

“Parang ilan lang ang oras. 365 days lang sa isang taon. Wala na akong oras,” the busy actress replied, laughing

Bea admitted that travelling is her “guilty pleasure,” it is how she unwinds.

“You’re working on yourself because you’re always a work in progress. So when you travel, you expand your horizons, you discover so many things about the world and, therefore, you can see the world from a different perspective. It’s also about working on myself and my mental health,” she noted.

  1. Happy for the blessings that Bea has received and continues to enjoy. She deserves it for all her hard work. Nakakatuwa lang din na in all that she does and in her decisions, she takes into consideration her family and consults her mom.

    1. True. 30 million madali lang kitain yan for someone like Bea Alonzo.

    4. 1:08 that’s just an investor’s visa. You still have to wait for the green card. The US also grants ‘genius visas’ to gifted & talented people who excels in their fields ( artists, athletes, scientists, actors). Ms. Gina Alajar got this among others. And yes, “I’m gonna or I am gonna is short form/slang for I am going to”. So it is acceptable informal grammar.

    13. 12.06 agree. because it's a WISE investment compared to bags

      Delete
    14. Agree with 12:47, major celebrities are public figures and you can estimate kung gaano kalaki ang kinikita nila based sa movies, tv series, endorsements nila especially yung matagal na sa showbiz.
Samanatalang ang mga politiko, kahit alam mo kung ano exactly ang salary grades nila for how many years in service, hindi mo maiconnect kung paano nakapagpundar ng expensive properties and luxury items, naka-afford ng expensive vacations ng pamilya abroad at nakapagsimula ng iba't ibang businesses na may conflict of interest sa government posts nila.

      Delete
    15. This is worth bragging for... I want her to keep bragging her real estate investments so that young people, and others will follow her lead. Imbes na branded clothes at bag atupagin, lupa and real estate muna... Kung may extra, then bags or other luho na...

  16. Is it really bragging? Pretty sure interviewer asked how much she spent for the real estate. And what she described isn't at all unique but offered by other countries too like Canada where you can apply for citizenship and undergo a faster process if you apply as an investor. Sana all because these are the kinds of opportunity not accessible to all but I honestly don't see how this is humble bragging. Her answers were very as a matter of fact. I guess pag inggitera ka, inggit ka lang regardless.

  23. FYI : Spain launched its golden visa programme in 2013. An investment of €500,000 in real estate will gain family residency. The Spanish investor visa can be renewed every two years. After five years it is possible to gain permanent residency and after ten years citizenship. It is not necessary to live in Spain in order to retain and renew the residency visa permit

Talagang Money-wise and Busines-minded sya, hindi nya hahayaang walang papasok na pera, hindi pwedeng pa out lang lahat ng kaperahan nya nung mawalan ng franchise ang mother network nya, kaya nga lumipat sya agad, a business-wise decision, kung hindi sya lumipat, tengga ang goal nyang ito. And she dreaded that thought.
