    1. but they are not choosing best quality films

    2. 12:56 AM You are right! And they still ask why the new generation of moviegoers are not watching Filipino made movies LOL

      Delete
    3. Trash movies na naman. Gusto lang nilang kumita. Jusko sana yung effort nila ay gamitin na lang to help the pinoy film industry. Hindi nga nila mapababa ang movie tickets. And dapat magkaron ng rules sa cinema na kapag quality films bigyan sila ng chance na mapalabas yung movies, hindi yung pull-out agad after 2 days.

      Delete
    4. They can continue to make movies the way they want to.

Dapat maintindihan ng mga film advocates na meron talagang demographic yung mga “obra” nila and not to expect EVERYONE to love what they make.

    5. It's all a money making scheme in the guise of filipino movie recognition. the quality movies are pulled off early from their screening.

  2. mmff is board should hire new people. ang boring at tasteless na nila ngayon. i thought 2016 would be a start of different era.

    2. Sus do not us! Syempre gusto ng producer mag return of investment hindi yung flop.Tulad noon, walang nanood kaya pull out agad sa sinehan.

    3. The more they keep the Filipino moviegoes "dumb" and tastsless ... the more money $$$ they will get with these poorly and rushly made low budgeted films they shove into everyones thoats during these MMFF. Unfortunately for them, they are dealing with a new more sophisticated breed moviegoers called the Millenials. And they are watching any of the trash movies!

    5. Pero 2:41, may time na magaganda at the same time enjoyable for the family ang MMFF movies, like yung Magic Temple/Magic Kingdom. Sana maibalik yung ganung quality ng story at movie-making.

      Delete
    6. Yes! naalala ko nung bata ako, nanuod kami ng magic temple-with my titas and cousins, magic kingdom-with my mom. Mmff pala nun. I was too young to remember.

      Delete
    7. Ah yes! I remember mmff2016. Yung hindi nakapasok sina vice and vic. The board actually tried pero floppy disk talaga sila nung taon na yun. Kaya im sure they wont do it again. At least not in a few years.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. True. Di na mauulit yun. Kita kita rin kasi yan. Asa celebrity din ang isang factor. Sad but true.

  4. Eh ano ngayon if may mmff for summer? Asa movie goers na yan if panonoorin nila or hindi.

  5. Plot twist : magkaka-entry si agot

  6. I agree with Agot Isidro on this! 👍👍👍..GREED..... Unfortunately, the Philippine movie industry failed to evolve with the times.Thr quality is HORRIBLE! Look at movies recently being shown on MMFF. Its all the same OLD THEME..STORYLINE. It is very redundant and I am not surprised why the Millenials are not patronizing any of these mpvies!!!!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Millenials are not watching?!?! Really!?!? Then, we should get the "secret" of those who mostly watched those movies of why they look young.

      Delete
    2. Sinubukan nila na indie ang ipalabas noon.Indie din pinasok ng mga manonood.Nilangaw! Kaya bumalik na sa dating formula.

      Delete
    3. 2:40 AM Ya Really! Have you ever wondered why the Millenials are patronizing Foreign Hollywood Movies over local ones? They dont want to waste their time and money on very poorly made local movies. And yet people like you still they dont why namamatay na ang pelikulang Pilipino??? THINK! LOL

      Delete

      Delete
    5. What millenials are you talking about, masa millenials ang pinaguusapan not the elite!

      Delete
Bilang gusto nyo ng movies as an art expression.

    1. In case hindi mo alam, yun talaga ang puroose ng MMFF, give chance to good movies. Sa tingin mo, bakit nagkaroon ng movies like 3 Taong Walong Diyos, Burlesk Queen, Insiang etc. Magagalit sa yo si Madam Imelda Narcos for not knowing the real purpose of MMFF.

      Delete

      Delete
  8. Pwede din siguro na parang dagdag pero na same level of prep parang sa mmff every christmas.May float, awarding etc pero ung mga movies is parang sa mga cannes or sundance festival. Ung sa 2016 na MMFF feeling ko kasi mejo hindi ganun kalaki ung kinita nila and entertainment business is a business afterall kaya bumalik sila sa same formula. Tska alam nmn natin na most ng Christmas is really for the kids so kng ako entry ittarget ko tlga is mga bata kaya kumikita ung mga pang kids at may kids na entry.

    1. Kung ikaw producer,i consider mo ang return of investments.

Eh ganun talaga, some films are not for everyone.

  11. Give up na ako sa MMFF. Wala eh, give na natin yan sa mga pelikulang “mababaw” if you wanna put it that way. Pero wag nang gawing twice a year, OA na yun. Let other local movies get seen the remaining months of the year.

    1. Kung ayaw mong manood wala namang pumipilit sayo.

I agree nilangaw ang indie films.

    At bakit nga ba kasi?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Kung ibang admin ang nagpropose ng ganito, would she react the same way kaya? Admit it, we opt for hollywood films.

  18. Movie goers are drawn on what they see on TV. Sino ba pinaka sikat ngayon. Ano ba ang style nya/nila, diba mababaw? No need for in depth analysis.

  19. Haha - so true Agot, so true. PG levels lang ang mga eto.

    1. Oh yeah. Why don't you be the one to produce your so called art film then you watch it by yourself.Tignan natin sino ma PG may malugi ka.

  20. Kahit pumuti ang uwak, those who are criticizing mainstream movies, nilangaw ang mga so called art films ninyo, while the mainstream producers are laughing their way to the bank.Awards are not their main goal.

    1. Agree. Been like that for the past years.
I think its the selection committee na may sinusundan pang criteria... 40% sa quality ng movie... Ano ba ang passing?
Eh kung di yan nasusunod... Wag ng magtago behind the cloth of a film festival..... All i can say is, 'di maganda ang movie' .. At di na ung 'ano ba yan film festival movie na naturingan.. Di naman pala maganda'. It's not about millenials, ung mahilig sa art film, or pangmasa movie. It is about.. You set a standard, criteria or rule... Ifollow nyo... Kung hindi pumasa.. Eh di hanap pa... Kung kulang ang entries.. Ibig sabihin.. Don't go with the festival... Bottomline... Wala talagang producers na willing magrisk to justify the standard na hinihingi ng festival dahil sa huli alam nila ang gusto ng masa. Sad but true... Mahirap man tayong maplease but the numbers will still show that mababa ang panlasa natin pagdating sa gusto natin. Masakit pero numbers will speak for itself... We should know better this time.

    2. True. Nandun lang sila, yes kasali pero they didnt get any valuable award.

  21. Clap clap Agot haha. Naubos daw this Christmas season, pambawi gastos. They are insatiable, their greed knows no limit. Laging gutom.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Wala namang problema if may Xmas at Summer MMFF, ang problem ko need nila piliin ang quality films as entry, kumita man or hindi, panindigan na may quality, kung malugi then hopefully they will keep on improving, while moviegoers will be educated or even forced to watch quality films

    ReplyDelete
