Insta Scoop: Kris Aquino Remembers Dad Ninoy on His Birthday

Images courtesy of Instagram: krisaquino

I got to know my Dad as a FATHER from May 1980 to August 1983. When he was jailed during Martial Law I was only 1 year & 7 months old. Those Boston years w/ him were SPECIAL- my Dad was brilliant & had a photographic memory. Our bonding would be while watching the evening news, him quizzing me about what I read in Time & Newsweek, us watching 60 Minutes and CNN, and every month on a Friday we'd have a Dad & bunso date, we'd go to Barnes & Noble and I could buy all the books & magazines I wanted for as long as I finished reading them w/in that month & then we'd have ice cream... I read voraciously- but you can see I lean towards fiction featuring lawyers & detectives, my magazines are about business, entertainment, and fashion, while my newspapers & online reading are political. Sabi kasi ng Dad ko- in any work I'll enter being well read, well informed, and well prepared will help me get ahead of the pack. LABANAN daw ng depth & breadth of knowledge, the courage to speak & stand by the truth, and most of all the ability to convey your message w/ impact in a way that will make people listen, think, and react. 💛#November271932August211983 (My Dad died at 50 years old, just 5 years older than me now.)

  6. Duterte practically destroyed the principles and values fought by not only Ninoy but other national heroes like Rizal and Bonifacio. It looks like the pilipines is now govern by savages and ignorant who are hell bent of dragging it back to the dark age of lawlessness and barbarism. But maybe the country and its illiterate citizens deserve that special place in the dark age where it rightfully belong hahahah

    1. talaga? national heroes according to the freemasons, programmed into the minds of filipinos.. not against rizal, bonifacio etc, but your statement is too deep upon a very shallow research. wag kayo maniwala sa mga paid troll like this one. magtaka kayo dahil mas gusto pa pakialalaman ni bam aquino ang mga childrens textbooks instead na ayusin ang batas para di mailibing si marcos. next they cry like the victims again

  7. Not a pro/anti aquino and marcos pero nakakabastos lang na lagi may badcomments sa dalawa lalo na yun mga millenials kuno na sobrang daming alam. Sana before we open our lips, read and understand history.

I dont like the Aquinos either pero wow! Pinapatay at dinetain tatay nila kelangan pang magThank You?

He was afraid of being treated here, baka sa operating table pa siya matodas under suspicious circumstances. Know your history

Our memory may be short but no one can ever change history.

    4. Nobody said marcos is a hero. Im pro sa burial nya but I dont think that he is a hero. Im only pro because according to the Law pwede. You twist your own understanding when its simple. If he is not a hero for you people e di hindi, kahit naman sya he will never claim such.

      Hay nako.

And isa pa, learn from the mistakes of the past pero dont live in it.

  14. Girl, please wag kang mag-rely on social media as your source of info. They were exiled in Boston. It's not like nagbakasyon sila don!

    ReplyDelete

    1. They were not exiled, ninoy was sent there for treatment and with a big bonus of including his whole family with the expense of the taxpayer's money. Kahit sinong historian alam yan. Magbasa ka ulit ng libro. Shunga to the nth level ka.

      Delete
In the meantime the Marcoses thought that their problem was solved, but boy oh boy, they were ever so wrong.

  15. Eto lang yan, revise the law about sa mga nagpapalibing sa libingan ng mga bayani, I dare the senators who are against Marcos burial to initiate on this. About sa picture honestly I don't treat Ninoy as a hero, di ako pro/anti Marcos-Aquino neither of them are heroes para sakin why? Diba binenta ni Ninoy ang Sabah which is talagang sa Pinas? Is he really fighting for our democracy or he wanted to be the next president? Ediba he have been into politics since? How should we know kung hindi talaga nag aspire to be a president thus his actions. But nonetheless, I applaud him for being an instrument to our freedom (emphasis on the instrument) pero I still pity him kasi up to date wala parin justice as if binalewala nalang ang case nya.

kung talagang hate nila si marcos then by all means open up his case and find the real truth as to who is actually behind ninoy's death

Where's your logic 1:52? I am no historian, but it's common sense. Do you think democracy will be ours had Marcos remained in the position? Somebody had to replace Marcos to win the battle.

      Delete
    6. Anon 1:52AM, no evidence to prove that Ninoy sold Sabah. In the meantime, here's something you can ponder "But three years later, in 1977, in a speech at the Asean Summit held at Kuala Lumpur, Marcos formally announced the withdrawal of the Philippine claim to Sabah.
He said: “Before Asean can look to the outside world for equity, for justice and fairness we must establish order, fairness and justice among ourselves… I wish to announce that the Government of the Republic of the Philippines is therefore taking definite steps to eliminate one of the burdens of Asean – the claim of the Philippine Republic to Sabah.”

  17. This is what's wrong with so many people today! They rely on and believe facebook posts, memes and youtube videos. So gullible! Hindi tumakas si Ninoy; he was exiled. He was allowed to go to the US for coronary bypass, under two conditions: that he will return and he will not speak ill of the Marcos govt. He didn't want to be treated at the Phil. Heart Center, so he requested to be allowed to go to Boston together with his family. Get your facts straight!

  22. a true hero who died for our country not obsessing about ego and glory that his wish one day is to be buried sa libingan ng bayani. A true hero makes self sacrifice not make others sacrifice so he and his family and friends live a luxurious lifestyle. A true hero seeks truth and inspires others to do the same and not use filipinos ignorance and bank on the masses weaknesses for self interest. It's obvious marcos cronies has been manipulating the minds of people by using blogs and social media . Just so you know. There are plenty of us good people who knows exactly what these unethical people are doing. We continue to fight for and defend the weak from being manipulated. We are strong alive and well. We are resilient. We will not stop to defend the minds to the youth and the weak because we have no other interests but the well being of our country. We cannot be fooled.
