    2. that just shows how demented madame stella is. tama si anony mous hindi si miriam ang nanalong best costume noon time niya.

      Delete
    3. JUST SHOWS HOW DEMENTED MADAME ARANETA IS BECAUSE MIRIAM QUIAMBAO DID NOT WIN THE BEST COSTUME!! KAYA ANG TINGIN NIYA SA COSTUME AT GOWN AY "BONGA" DAHIL ANG MATA NIYA AY NAAPEKTUHAN NA RIN.

    3. In all fairness, okay na yang costume ni MJ sa lagay na yan. pa-OA-han ang costume nila. Check out Canada's costume maloloka kayo may scoreboard ng hokey. So if I compare them to MJ's tame pa yang sa kanya. But yes I agree sana Filipino naman next time.

    4. Yung mga napiling best in costume eh bongga! Malaki, mabigat at mulhang pinaghirapan, yung nanalong best in costume 20kilos daw yung bigat ng costume nya!

    1. Oo nga, parang costume lang pang local festival. Gawa ng bata. No good daw designers o. Wala lang siyang taste or very poor ang taste sa fashion.

    2. Yes the national costume was ugly. But, again, at the end of the day, hindi lang naman dun binase yung scoring ng MU. Lets just accept the fact that our candidate is not good enough.

Also, about SME being biased sa country niya. I think its normal, even us Filipinos do that a LOT.

Just put it this way, SME invest millions every year para sa mga candidates na nilalaban natin. I dont think she'll do that if she really dont believe in us.

  9. Asus! Open daw si Madam to hire Pinoy designers pero it'll be same next year. Si Barazza pa rin ang gagawa and Madam will say none of the Pinoy designer-submitted gowns passed her taste. Palusot galore!

    1. Ang taste niya, tacky! Not elegant.

  10. Wow! Just Wow! What an insult to our filipino designers. This Barraza's creations are just so ugly that we're losing out on the evening gown and national costume competition. His creations are pang barangay level.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Well Barraza did design the national costume that Zorayda Ruth Andam wore in 2001 and we won 1st Runner up in National Costume. And no, I'm not Stella Marquez but a friend of Ruth.

      Delete
    2. 12:35AM if you say so. But I don't think that as a Filipino I can discount the fact that for the past 5 years out candidates have been using recycled and hideous looking gowns. If Barazza is good in 2001 well then his work is not good enough right now, it does not cut it.

      Delete

    2. 12:42 AM she has to help the people thru the foundation because that is one of the responsibilities of Binibini, it is a foundation after all. It is not all beauty contest. They get sponsorship to do all this it is not as if she was giving money out of her own pockets.

  14. Mag-ipon na tayo ng funds pang Michael Cinco for next year, is it me or medyo na-off ako sa comment na the designers that were given to us are not good? Ummm, Cary and Inno Sotto sa local scene maganda yung style at malinis yung silhouette.

  25. If Madam is insinuating that Barazza gowns are superior to locally made ones like Libiran, Laurel and Sotto, eh magpaEO sya o kaya I'm doubting her taste. Look at Megan sino ba kasabay nya that year si Arida aba eh milya-milya layo ng ganda ng gown nila.

  27. Wow ah! Hoy, Stella Araneta!!!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Wow! What an insult to Filipino designers! So many holloywood artists wearing Filipino designers and she dare says they're not good enough? If they're good for international artists why are they not good enough for Filipina beauties.

    ReplyDelete

  33. Parang gobyerno naman itong BPCI? Palakasan system lang?

  37. Madame Stella Araneta just insulted the Filipino fashion designers as a whole!!! If she really wants the gowns to be done as per her taste, she should give instructions on what are required, what would be acceptable as pageant gowns. Nobody good enough? SMH!

Count me in. Isama ko buong barangay namin na pumirma.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Ok, fine.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Bakit kailangan balatuhan si Bazura? Dapat lahat ng costumes ng candidates natin made by Filipino designers.

      Delete
  44. dont u just get it? friend nya si barazza. tanong nyo kay araneta kung magkano ang kickback nya sa paggagawa ng gowns for philippine candidates? she will never get pinoy designs. its from her "charitable institution" in other words, BUSINESS! lol

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  46. It's Stella Aranetas choice and opinion. I think it's time to get others opinion as well. Maybe na time warp na choices nya. Parang insulto naman sa mga world class nating pinoy designers like Michael Cinco, Cary Santiago, Inno Sotto, etc...

    ReplyDelete
    Replies

      Delete
    2. Inno Sotto is...
He always incorporates Filipinism in his creations and the models he employ...
He just doesn't like the process and bureaucracy in the inputs for the Pageant gown...
As we all know, he is quite eccentric and touch with his creations

    ReplyDelete
  49. For me, not all of Barazza's gowns were misses. I personally liked Shamcey's and Janine's. Pero I agree with the majority, that our candidates should wear creations of Filipino designers. If Megan was able to rock a Libiran in Miss World, why not MJ? :)

    ReplyDelete
  50. She should admit that MJ's native costume is an embarassment and that what any contestant wear in a pageant somehow affects the judging.
Netizens are right in being critical about this.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Well like or not this woman is OUT OF TOUCH! She should just relinquish this and give it to Cory Quirino!

  54. Buti pang matalo tayo using our own designers knowing na they did their best- walang malice, walang sabotage. The sad part is, this Colombian designer also designs for the other candidate. I don't mind using foreign designers, other candidates do that as well. Pero when you compare what he did for our candidates versus Colombia's, magtaka ka ba kung mas gagandahan nya yung sa iba? I agree. Palusot lang ni Stella Araneta yan coz the Filipinos hate her. I think she should honor her word next year and just use a local designer, otherwise, wala ng credibilidad and BPCI. Honestly, I'd rather watch Miss World, not only because we won but because of their charity works. Plus lately, too many politics going on with MIss U. (like Donald Trump picking out the winners, mostly Latina winners). At least sa Miss World, they have more variety. Just saying.

  56. Sabi nya ginagawa nya na daw to for more than 5 years....
    TRANSLATION:

I say... her years of experience is irrelevant... All I can see is politicking and corruption.. in those 5 years, we never had another one in the Top 3 so please... spare us
