Actor Mark Gil Passes Away

Multi-awarded actor Mark Gil - father to actors Gabby Eigenmann, Sid Lucero and Andi Eigenmann passed away early this morning. Born Raphael Joseph De Mesa Eigenmann, Mark was 52.

Coming from a family of thespians, with parents Rosemarie Gil and Eddie Mesa and siblings Michael de Mesa and Cherrie Gil, Mark Gil rose to fame with unforgettbale movies Batch '81, Guns and Roses, Magkaribal, among others. His latest tv project was the hit series, "The Legal Wife" where he played father to lead star Angel Locsin. 

According to reports, Gil succumbed to cirrhosis of the liver.

  6. I could remember him sa isa sa huling soap operas noya, ang My Husband's Lover where he played the father of Carla and Karel. Rest in peace po. Naging bahagi po kayo ng buhay ng mga Pilipino, Sir Mark Gil.

  15. R.I.P. Mark Gil. One of the best looking and better actors of his generation. I remember his movie, UNDERAGE, with Maricel Soriano as his leading lady (he replaced Alfie Anido dahil naaksidente ito during that time). Of course, his best movie, for me, is BATCH 81.

  17. So now I understand why he started wearing a toupee. Working while having to hide his condition is very remarkable. I was very shocked when I heard about the news; definitely one of the best drama actors Philippines has to offer. He will always be remembered.
