    5. Anon 1:03. Porke't Kathniel, jeje na? It's like saying a movie with say Cherie Gil in it would be classy.

    10. Anon 1:03. Critically acclaimed ang Boy Golden. A critic even went so far as comparing it to a Johnnie To film. Huwag kasi magjudge kaagad.

  2. Wala. MMFF movies are the epitomes of ka-cheapan, third world mediocrity. Pwede pa siguro yung ibang indie movies but no-no sa MMFF entries. Yes, ayaw kong manood and I strongly encourage you jeje and baduy ones to watch classic Hollywood films so that you'd get some culture. :)

    5. I support you 1210. One will get nothing out from these low budgeted and poor quality films.

      Delete
    6. 12:30 Pretentious much! The MMFF entries are cheap copies of Hollywood films anyway! Hahahaha! Eat that!

      Delete
    7. 12:31 Exactly, dahling! I don't get it why some Pinoys would settle for movies like these. Uggh, so baduy!

    9. May trashy Hollywood films din. Pero di natipon sa isang "film festival." Imagine all the Razzie nominees in one film event. Yan na ang peg ng MMFF ngayon. Hahaha!

      Delete
    10. @ 12:10 You are a disgrace with that stupid mentality of yours, calling our own movies "cheap". You even dared adding "third-world" into your comment ! Sorry hun but reality is a b****. You can't run from the fact that you are living in a "third-world" country. Even if you are a socialite, you are still living in a "third-world" country. I personally think that all of the movies have a potential and it is a great way to support Filipino movies. So before commenting make sure that you've watched ALL of the movies listed there. Merry Christmas and GOD Bless your soul.

      Delete
    11. Puwede naman kasing magcomment without sounding pretentious.

    12. We're talking about classy Oscars levels dito, people! Educate yourself and watch the likes of Lincoln or The Iron Lady rather than mediocre Pinoy movies.

    14. Anon 1:30. Genuine cinephiles know that the Oscars is not to be taken seriously. It is a popularity contest, and it also involves politics. However, I don't exactly disagree with your opinion on the MMFF. Most of the participating movies might be considered trash, but the variety of the selection also proves that Philippine cinema is alive and healthy. Now if you want to be educated on films, read more on film criticism. You also have to watch a broad spectrum of movies, including trash. And stop placing too much trust on the Oscars. After all, it's the same award-giving body which gave Titanic a whopping 11 awards.

    15. Anon 1:30 and Anon 12:10. Na watch ko na ang Lincoln and The Iron Lady. So what now? A Separation, Amour, Beast of the Southern Wild, Kon Tiki, Waltz with Bashir?

    3. Maybe u could state your comment politely po? Like in a suggestion manner unlike stating it like u did.."Very third world" come on dude,Ph is a third world country, and unless you're a perfect citizen of this country then u don't have the right to grumble against the government cause THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS PERFECT GOVERNMENT. The best so far for me na movie ni vice is yung This Guy's in love with u mare, may sense..unlike nung iba nyang movies. And it's nicer to watch a really good movie, hindi lang dahil sa artista. Yes vice is really good, but his movies not so. 74. I noticed that most local films are low-budgeted. Producers are always after the income of the movie without exerting effort to give audiences a share of NEW and INTERESTING stories. Why do they keep doing that? Because we, as audience, still patronize their crap. We should take watching movies to a higher level and dont just be stagnant to what producers and writers can offer.
