Forestry?

    5. Clearly Hindi lahat ng UP graduates are articulate and matalino.

    6. ANON 12:11AM isa kang malaking NEGA.

    8. OM means Oh My. :)

    9. obviously, typo yung OM. i dont know why you guys are making a big deal out of it. as for her grammar, naintindihan niyo naman yung sinasabi niya. she may not be great in expressing herself, but i dont think she's a bad person, na-misunderstand lang ni mo. she should be trained well, or kung hindi talaga kaya, have an interpreter.

      Delete
Nag generalize agad? C'mon..

May pa clearly clearly ka pa ANON 1:06. Hmp.

If i know, you graduated from University tabi tabi. kayo ni ANON 1:02

    11. ano'ng hindi matalino? Cum laude in BS Chemistry nga eh... and if you go to the Miss Universe website and go to her profile, it says there she can identify the composition of any compound just by glancing at it. kaya niyo yun?

    12. Anon 12:45 UPCAT passer ka ba? I bet you didn't even dare take it because you knew very well na di mo yun maipapasa. Anon 1: 06 &1:13 I am from UPLB. I haven't graduated yet but I can say that I am articulate enough. I may not have the perfect accent though. She isn't an English Major. BS Chemistry sya. So I don't see the need for her to fully master the English language. Being intellectual isn't measured on how well you speak the language. One can be fluent in English but it doesn't mean that s/he has something better to say compared to those who speak in Filipino. Stop generalizing, people. Masyado makitid isip nyo. Just reflects your level of intellect and IQ.

    13. nakakatawa kayong mga walang alam sa sistema ng UP. and please, FORESTRY??? look, you're bashing the girl because of her offensive (as most of you claim) remarks against Latinas tapos ina-associate niyo sa school? kung sa tingin niyo eh masasaktan yung mga Latina sa sinabi niya eh nasasaktan naman kaming mga taga-UP sa sinasabi niyo.

      Delete
    14. OM because she won't use the name of GOD in vain as we are fond of doing with our OMG!

      Delete
    15. 11:28, what is your point in asking if I passed UPCAT? What if I told you I did? What is your argument? Wag kayong defensive, Just admit it.

  8. I agree with Mo (though I don't like him) and other comments above. This is really "bad form" for Ariella...the interview and now her explanation. What she said in the interview is offensive even if she had no malice. All it shows is her poor communication skills further confirmed by this clumsy effort of an explanation/apology. Not fitting at all for an international representative.

    4. Baguhan sa FP 1:17?

I don't agree that lack of fluency in English equates to lack of ability to represent our country internationally. Kaya nga may translators.

      Delete
    6. 11:32 am...it's not Ariella's imperfect English that is being questioned but her singling out Latinas as a group and then generalizing. It is offensive and incorrect. There are many Latinas who are fluent in English and other languages. Even if she said what she said in fluent Tagalog, it would still be offensive.
Anyway, my question now is where are her mentors/managers? Why does it seem she is being abandoned to handle this PR mess?

    7. kawawa naman si 1:17! hahahahaha. Chars!

To Ara naman, her comm skills really make me cringe. But I appreciate the fact that this girl is doing her best and giving her all to bring glory for all of us (yes, even for the negatrons). It just makes me feel sad for this girl na one slip up (with no malicious intent, mind you) lang, the mob's there na kulang na lang durugin ang pagtao nya.

If you read the Mo post featured here, a lot were objective and were just giving their opinions, not dinudurog si Ara! Ever heard of constructive criticisms? Hindi ba pwedeng we care enough to point out something is wrong so we could improve it also? Nkklk! Sinong umapi at dumurog kay Ara???

    5. i agree with 12:29.. napilitan lang si Ara i-defend ang sarili nya dahil mismo sa pinoy (of all people!) bashers tapos ngayon siya pa rin ang mali.. that remark she made could have gone unnoticed kung hindi lang binuksan ni mo ang kanyang big mouth at nagsunuran ang kanyang mga alipores.. hays :(

  14. OM OM OM OM hahahahahaa looks like we won't be bagging the title this year.

  15. WRONG SPELLING AND GRAMMAR! It should have been: "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to offend anyone with my last interview. I hope you guys could understand what I was trying to say." Obviously, beauty lang pero kulang sa brains.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Grammar is correct. Maybe you mean composition based on the context that you know of the issue. But even so, your supposed correction is grammatically flawed.

      Delete
    2. Why flawed:

I didn't mean to offend anyone with WHAT I SAID IN my last interview.

      Delete
    3. Naku naman, wag mag-attempt mag-correct and replace it with something that is also wrong. How about this?:

" I'm sorry. I didn't mean to offend anyone in that interview. I hope you, guys, understood what I was trying to say."

      Delete
    4. best yung kay 1:35AM. complete thought yung sa kanya kasi indicated nya what the offending action was.

I agree with anon 1:33. Pero bottomline is, we should not judge her muna. Its too early. :-)

    ReplyDelete

    1. Eto nanaman tayo sa mashup ng expressions. When you say that someone is drooling, it pertains to ENVY.

Well just to let you know drooling used to have a diff meaning depending on the sentence. Might wanna' check it?

      Delete
    4. Actually , the real meaning of drooling ay pag lalaway.... so kaya lang sya ginamit sa envy kasi "naglalaway ka sa isang bagay na gustong gusto mo" kaya bago din mangcorrect siguraduhing wag kakahiya.. enebeyen...

      Delete
    5. That is true anon 2:42. Kaso sana di na drooling ginamit mo. Kahit rolling. You can just make your statement simple and corect para hindi na ma bash.

  23. What I'm tryn' to say? This tweet apology doesn't sound genuine, I have a feeling that she has no idea why and what she needs to be sorry about, if she knew why she just wouldn't say 'you know what I'm talking about'.

But I pity that she gets half the votes of Filipinos (since a lot seem to agree with Mo's strong point), she can probably use this as her motivation to win the crown.

Issue is not if she's good in english or not, its about being tactful. You're way of thinking, defensive siya masaydo na latina's cannot speak a sentence in straight english.

    ReplyDelete

  28. siguro we should all just stop now and lay off the bashing towards this girl. it's not helping her cause at all. yes, hindi siya proficient sa english, pero if we keep bringing it up and criticising her for it, she won't be able to concentrate on her preparations for the event which is happening is a few weeks time. she doesn't need this distraction right now.
anyway, Ariella, best of luck to you. just do your best, regardless of the outcome, you're still a binibining pilipinas winner.

  39. Lost in translation tayong lahat! I know what she's trying to say, but she needs to improve on how she relate situations properly. People expect you to have beauty and brains and not just high IQ, but smart enough to consider the right etiquette specially when delivering a simple interview.

People are people, if you can't deal with the haters just shut your world on them and focus on your positive side.

I hope she improves, but yes Mo is right, what if a Latin network gets wind of this, you can't get on the bad side of Latinas!

Still not a fan of her. Of the RST beauty queens, she ang pinaka least na na transform. Wag nya idahilan ang latina, latinas are very charming and performers talaga pag miss universe. Even if they can't speak english, adorable pakinggan at nadadala nila dahil baklang bakla sila. Though the use of "can" is not as strong/certain - it implies hoping the object (those offended) has the ability to understand. It is even more appropriate knowing she's not demanding those "negatrons" to accept the apology. Overall, stay away from mocking Ara and instead evaluate yourself - What have you done for the country so far?
