    5. Uhmm, he wasn't acquitted due to technicality. He was acquitted for the SC finally saw Jessica Alfaro as an incredible witness and her 2 sworn affidavits are ridiculous.

    6. Guys, just comment on the cover, ok? We're not debating on his innocence here. Tayo talagang mga Pinoy ang hilig mamersonal, just focus on the magazine cover.

    2. I agree with 2:47 ... Prove it! So many people think they know everything. As if they were privy to every single piece of evidence admitted and NOT admitted in court. As if they knew exactly what happened that night.

The Webbs have money, that's true, but what they have is proof of being somewhere else that night. To those that are uninformed, they had people testify (including Gary V, who is really just an acquiantance) on Hubert being in the US. They had certification from the US State Dept, verified by the US Embassy here, that Hubert was in the States then. Di lang tinanggal ng judge because she said Sec. Madeline Albright should come here to testify on its authenticity.

Now, if you've ever had to had a document certified by an embassy, ANY embassy, you'd know they're very careful about it and take time. The defense team would never dare use a fake one with all thr publicity. That would be like commiting a crime in full view of the US Embassy.

Basta may reasonable doubt, even konti, better makalaya ang tao, kahit mahirap or mayaman, than to be in jail.

      Delete
    3. "For sure?! Prove it!!"

You are helarious. As if you don't live in this country. As if you don't know what is the truth in this country.

      Delete
    4. Yeah, they waited 15 years for their "influence" and "money" to work in favor of his case. His father was a Senator at that time and if they just used their influence, power and money then he wouldn't even spend a day in jail!

Apparently, believing that he is guilty makes one believe that a drug addict with 2 signed affidavits and failed to recognize the accused (who is supposed to be her "barkada") in the court would be a very liable witness.

  14. Seeing all these comments make me pity Hubert Webb. Trial by publicity talaga.
I don't think the people bothered looking at the evidence.
For me the most solid evidence that he has is the documents that showed he was in the USA. I don't think they are that powerful to be able to falsify something that is not within their jurisdiction. Only USA government can provide those documents.
Gary Valenciano also testified in court he saw Hubert in the USA. I don't think Gary V would bother putting his reputation on line if it weren't the truth.
I used to think he was guilty until I read an article by Teodoro Benigno, who I believe is one of the most credible journalist.
I hope we look into the facts of both sides first before we start judging someone.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Dislike! I'm sure he or his relatives pulled a lot of strings for this cover photo. Just like how they pulled strings to set him free. Remember folks, his being outside of jail doesn't mean he's innocent, he was set free because of a technicality in the rules of court. Sorry, Hubert, but behind those eyes, I can still see guilt all over.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Oh geez! How judgmental can you get? Pulled strings to be free, eh inabot nga ng more that 15 years in jail! 15 wasted years of youth and opportunities, mind you!! Mountains upon mountains of evidence, what happened? Binuksan man lang ba? Sinilip man lang ba?! Where's justice in there?!!

      Delete
    2. Kulang pa ang 15 years as punishment for killing someone no! Besides, everyone knows how the "justice system" works in this country. Ultimo larceny nga, sobrang tagal kang makukulong if you're an indigent, pero if you know someone in the Judiciary or you have the money to pay, you're set free agad. Malay mo, they had to wait 15 years kasi nung time lang na yun in power ang kilala nila.

Remember, when there's smoke, there's fire. No one would be spouting foul about his being released kung he was set free and acquitted for the crime.

      Delete
    3. Ur right Ano 3:18,, daming evidences pero di tiningnan like ung isang tao from US na di pinayagan na magsalita sa korte.. Laking impact un sa kaso niya..

  22. Looks like may Fanney na si Hubert dito, parang iisa lang yang like ng like. Oh well, I can just imagine Lauro Vizconde's horror when he sees this one. Poor old guy, he didn't get the justice he deserves. 15 years isn't enough for someone who took away you whole world!! Filipinos are so forgetful and forgiving na wala sa lugar. This just proves how rotten our Justice System is. I was living within that neighborhood at that time kasi, kaya I know kung anong klaseng image meron tong taong to and the others involved. May God's Hands be the final judge on this one.

Vizconde knows the truth - that Webb is innocent. But he is in denial, dahil since walang nahuhuli na tutoong pumaslang sa pamilya nya, he found justice and peace of mind na iba ang kinulong, just so somebody, just anybody could be in jail.

  41. Dislike he showed his dark side here...yes we cannot judge just for the looks..but the cover says it..may his victims are now in peace.

Eh mas epal pa nga si Vizconde, isa pang di maka move on. Tell the mag then to cover him next time. Perhaps pang November issue, what you think?

Sana mag lie low nalang sya live a quiet life nalang. Saka nalang sya mag ganyan ganyan kapag nahuli na yung tunay na kriminal.

  46. C'mon Hubert! If you really believe that you're innocent, the least you can do is to lie low. This cover photo shouts the lack of delicadeza, esp. for the family of the ones your "supposedly" harmed. How do you think would they feel? Parang offensive lang, promise. Nasa labas ka na rin naman, pick up where you left off pero be discerning enough to know how to act properly. Lie low and live a quiet life.

Fp, i hope you post my comment, I'm your new reader. My friend told me about your blog a few weeks ago and I got hooked to it. I'm an online teacher and while teaching I browse your blogs!haha -

    1. It just like saying, we don't to have justice in life. That is not acceptable.

      Delete
    2. Yeah, sad but that is the reality. although meron din namang nabibigyan ng hustisya but the fact remains that if you're poor, justice is hard to get, merong ibang mga hukom na nababago ng pera ang mga desisyon nila.

Perfect justice cannot be attained in this world, may final judgement, kung saan ang lahat ng mga lihim ay mabubunyag.

  48. US Embassy na ang nagsabi na nasa US siya that time. Meaning he's really there. I agree din dun sa other anon, maybe prison changed him.

I don't know the real story. I pity Lauro's side din because nawala't pinatay ang mundo niya kaya hahanapin at hahanapin niya talaga ang hustisya hanggang dulo. But let's not judge Hubert ng ganun kadali.

    2. Anon 2:33, so, was the court able to PROVE that Hubert's documents were FAKE/FAKED?

  49. Guilty or not..may choice kasi not to accept this offer. I think it would do him more harm than good. For someone who went through all those negative things, parang this is the last thing u wanna do..putting yourself under scrutiny again.

And to the magazine naman, ang raming ibang personalities na pwedeng gawing cover..why put someone na mejo alanganin? They should have restrained themselves not to go this route.

  50. During the 90s kasi talamak ang bayaran to get fake docs even in the US embassy, plus they only presented photocopies, very dubious, kaya the court did consider his alibi that he was somewhere else.

  51. Anon 12:14, he has every right to get his story out there, to show how our justice system is corruptible and out-dated. he aptly represents thousands of people who were wrongly accused and languished in jail for crimes they didn't commit; those people who didn't and wouldn't have enough clout to get noticed for the injustice dealt to them.

I empathize with the Vizconde family for their loss but this man (Webb) has suffered enough condemnation and I actually commend him for coming out in the open when he can, as you'd prefer, live a quiet life.

By putting himself in the spotlight again, he'd put forth the need to reexamine the changes our justice system sorely deserves. And the magazine is quite brave to do what they did here.

The Vizconde case is from over. I really hope they reopen the case to find the real perpetrators who are still out there enjoying their freedom.

    my 2 cents.

  52. Kayo pa talaga ang nag away away.

Anyway if you could give me your opinion on this..

Let's say Hubert was really in the States that time. Tanggalin natin sya sa equation. What about the others? Do you think they are innocent as well, or sila na yun?

Just wanna hear your opinion. I'm currently reading about the case, as I don't know all the details of it.

    Peace!

    1. The others didn't fight as hard as the Webbs and they too came from prominent families. That's telling a lot.

Come to think of it, Webb and Laranaga (sp?) were alike in the sense that they were both miles away from the crime scene, with people to corroborate their whereabouts but still ended up as main suspects.

  54. If you live in BF paranaque, you would know the truth. Lauro Vizconde is not in denial. I pray the souls of his wife and two daughters are at peace even though the culprit is free again. Are we that naive to believe that because these were papers from the US embassy that it cannot be bought. Everything can be bought. Even your life.

    1. And if u really do live in P'que, then you're not telling the truth. How much do you know about Lauro and his ex-family? Yessiree, the couple have been separated for years when the crime came about. Got time to read? Check for court documents concerning Mang Lauro's "feuding" with the brothers and sisters of ex-wife Estrellita.

    2. I agree with you 100% i know some green card holders and they were able to fix their entry documents whenever they enter the US (during the 90's) some dont even get stamped to make it seem like they were in the US all along.
So Im sure thats what they did with Hubert too..especially if he entered through LA or SF. They do not do this now but before a lot of Filipinos were doing this.

I know Hubert is guilty 1000000%
