  5. Ano ba yan! Baka his advisers are the ones plagiarizing and he's not aware. BUT pwede ba yon? Before naman siguro sya magbigay ng speech or what not, PROOFREAD mo naman muna :) Ewan!

    ReplyDelete

    1. kahit naman niya i-proof read ito, di naman niya malalamang jopya lang ito. he should tell his staff to STOP copying others and come out with original ideas

      Delete
    2. PROOFREAD? bakit i check ba niya ang spelling? hmmmmm

      Delete
Although nagche-check rin ng spelling, proofreading involves checking the whole document for errors, improvements, etc.

You mean "no big deal" sa 'yo ang intellectual dishonesty? I know some journalists who have been dismissed from their jobs for lesser offenses. And ang yabang pa ng staff niya; they make it appear na ang blogger pa ang may kasalanan. Haven't they (or you, for that matter) heard of intellectual property rights?

  26. dear senator tito, we now know that this is a battle of the intellects. however, we will not condemn you because of your apparent lack of scholarly knowledge (that is taught in high school). we, the public, changed your status from a slapstick comedian who gained fame with toilet humor and gay parody, to a senator. we will not give up on trying to change you from a pretentious senator who twists, plagiarizes, and grandstands, into a humble person. so, get used to the comments and learn from them! you challenged the intellectuals, you'd better be man enough to face them!

Now my turn. Excuse me, Mr. Sotto, tap your keyboard and Google the definition of plagiarism. Plagiarism is not just about copying one's work verbatim. PLAGIARISM IS STEALING other people's thoughts, ideas, or expressions. (Credits to wikipedia, google, dictionary and the entire internet by the way.) Now if you find other people's thoughts really inspiring to keep to yourself and would love to reiterate them to our dear public, at least acknowledge the person who owns the speech/through/idea. It must've been very inspiring and humble of you to say something like, "Hayaan nyong ibahagi ko sa inyo ang ilang mahahalagang kataga mula kay Senator Robert Kennedy ng Estados Unidos....." O di ba? That's easy and comfortable, dude.

Kapag may term paper, research, dissertation, thesis, etc, we really had to go to the library and research na tumatagal ng ilang buwan. Ngayon, researching is so easy to do, kahit nasa bed ka pa.

In short, wala syang "paninindigan". Stubbornness is not the same as having a "paninindigan".
Secondly eh itong plagiarism broo haha nya. Jusme. Na-expose tuloy na wala talaga syang karapatang maging Senador. At based sa reaction nya sa critics, wala rin syang breeding, at based sa comedic career nya, wala syang karapatang matawag na comedian.

It will not make him less of man. Malay mo magkaroon ng awa effect if ever magpakumbaba.

  105. The dj we love to hate has raised a point on his radio show, and I have the same thoughts as well. Is Sotto the only one guilty of plagiarism? How many other politicians have done this in the past? I guess it's just much easier to catch people now because of the internet, but then, this isn't anything new. How many other politicians have rattled off their speeches as if the ideas were there own? It's just too bad that Sotto aired his speech on national TV, hence easier to see his plagiarism.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Sabihin na nating kahit simpleng tao nangongopya. Ang kaibahan lang Tito Sotto is already a high-ranking official. He should be more responsible in his actions and words and should own up to his mistakes. He will be more respected if he knows how to accept his faults. It is his role to uphold integrity and he should be wary not to commit the same blunder again. Matalino na mga voters ngayon.

    ReplyDelete
  111. hehe..funny.. para hindi masabing kinopya ang speech, tinranslate? google translate does wonders to senator's speech..tsktsk.. speak your mind mr. senator..not others' minds..then you'll never have this bad publicity..

  113. I always knew Sotto to be a shallow man on tv. But I never thought that he is THAT shallow and ridiculous as a politician! What a big shame he brings to his family and the entire nation! We have again become the laughing stock of the world with all the mega-blunders he has committed!! SHAME ON YOU, TITO SOTTO!!

    ReplyDelete
For sure, most of us would agree na madami talaga tayong politicians na medyo di magagaling sa academics, some of them don't even have a degree at all. I don't undermine them, public service naman ang pinasok nila. But dapat lang siguro, they have someone they trust or at least themselves check the sources of the speeches their staff prepares for them. Well, of course, this won't be the case if sila mismo nag-utos sa staff nila to copy articles without properly quoting/crediting the sources.

My point is, Sotto by now should have fired his speech writer for all this hullabaloo. If not yet, then we could surmise that the plagiarism has his blessing in the first place. (-:
