    3. And past tense for "broadcast" is ALSO "broadcast". No "ED" in the end....but no problem...You relayed the message across anyways.

    1. Anon 2:16, prevalent is correct. Please stop correcting words that are correct already. You cheapen FP's site. FP, please don't approve these nonsense comments.

    2. anon sept 10, 2:16am...are you correcting something?PREVENTIVE is supposed to be in place of PREVALENT?

      PREVALENT:adjective
1.widespread; of wide extent or occurrence; in general use or acceptance.
      2.having the superiority or ascendancy.
      3.Archaic . effectual or efficacious.

      PREVENTIVE
      adjective
1.Medicine/Medical . of or noting a drug, vaccine, etc., for preventing disease; prophylactic.
2.serving to prevent or hinder: preventive measures.

      noun
3.Medicine/Medical . a drug or other substance for preventing disease.
      4.a preventive agent or measure.

so, ano ang dapat, yellow journalism is WIDESPREAD in this country? or yellow journalism is a PREVENTIVE MEASURE in this country?

    4. FP posts all these comments no matter how ridiculous they are because he wants to be fair to the commenter(s). everyone is free to post their opinions here so if you can't handle the correcting whether it be wrong or right, and your bangs are hurting, then get your bangs cut or don't read the comments.

  4. okay lang, halos lahat naman ng tao nagkakamali sa grammar. buti pinalitan niya, at least umamin siya at alam niya na mali siya. di katulad ng isang tao sa senado na huling-huli na nga, nagdadahilan pa. bv

    1. i agree!!! there's nothing wrong with committing a mistake as long as you do something to correct it. and besides, grammar lang yan. no biggie! tayo nga, tagalog na lang minsan nagkakamali pa e. sa english pa kaya, e di naman natin native tongue yan.

    2. siete pares brothers..

    1. Hinde. Irony in tagalog is maplantsa.

Pag tinagalog mo yung mga english sa sentence nya:

Anong maplantsa para maisip na reporter sya dati

  11. Grammar ba ang issue or something fishy about how news is per se in Pinas?

    ReplyDelete
  12. Dumarami ata ang english teachers na nagcocomment sa fashion pulis. Pano sila nakapasa?

  13. He was already grammatically correct the first time...why did he have to change it? Wrong grammar tuloy his 2nd post.

    ReplyDelete

    1. I believe you got it wrong. Take a look at the time the tweets were posted. On twitter, the latest is the post/tweet on top. In Remulla's case, he corrected it on his 2nd tweet which was tweeted @ 1hr 8mins. The tweet below @ 1hr 17mins is the one he corrected. :-)

  14. subject-verb diasgreement ulit..pero ok lang, nadeliver naman ang ibig nyang sabihin

  16. Nothing wrong with correcting yourself. Better than the people here on FP who correct other people tapos mali din naman. May masabi lang!

    1. Tapos yung mga nakakainis pang comments at pag correct ang naapprove. Sana yung mga papansin comments eh wag ng maapprove

  17. He meant that news nowadays are overhyped, sometimes fabricated and truth is usually exaggerated. Minsan naman, nilalagyan ng ibang kahulugan ang balita, nawawala na ang truth.

    ReplyDelete
  18. He's the type of walang utang na loob na guy. Former reporter ka pa naman. Of course, times have changed. Every news nowadays will be more brutal and morbid na.

It is what is happening now na kasi. Alangan naman change ng NEWS into fairytale-like lahat? Hello!

    1. Kasi he is talking about "yellow news." Duh!

  20. what i really love about FP's blog is it transforms his readers into intelligent beings and comments are transformed into a platform of criticisms and grammatical inquests. and lahat ng comment ina-aapprove unless rude na masyado unlike another blog.(cough* C* ness) I think nun panahon ni Gilbert Remulla direct to the point ang news.. pero now newscasters are themselves part of the news. nagiging star na sila when in fact they should be non-partisan.. right FP?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Mga teh, wag nang ianalyze. Pinost lang to ni FP for the grammar nazis. Nag post lang si GR ng wrong grammar na kinorekt after 9 minutes. That's all. Medj jahe for a former broadcaster / reporter. Pero kung gusto nyo paka deep, eh di oks din lang. Walang basagan ng trip.

  22. I don't get it, ano ba kasi issue dito? 'Yung grammar o yung content ng tweet nya? :/

  26. LOL! Akala ko ba he was a communications major, bakit pang elementary ang grammar?

    ReplyDelete
  27. No news is good news. It's always bad news. Plus, media framing has been a practice since the start of the 20th century. That's why the media are also considered the gatekeeper of information.
