Thank you, Secretary Jesse Robredo for your Great Service to the Filipino Nation

A sudden loss, a life so fragile. He was the kind of man people would be proud to be. In the midst of such a loss, we are beset by things that are often so hard to understand - that good people like him have to be the first to go. Sec. Jesse Robredo was the first Filipino government leader who was a recipient of the Ramon Magsaysay Award.

His brief stint as DILG secretary gave the Filipinos a benchmark what genuine public service is all about. To his dying days, he was the Filipino servant first, and ideal family man, second.  Great men like him will be long remembered.

Our deepest condolences to his family and those of his companions' families -- Capt. Jessup Bahinting and co-pilot KShitiz Chand, who perished with him. Prayers are therefore enjoined for their souls to be where they rightfully belong -- in God's loving kindness. Amen.

    1. The first recipient of The Ramon Magsaysay Award died also from a plane crash. How ironic? Or what word should be use?

    2. You may want to mean that President Ramon Magsaysay to whom the award was named after, also died from a plane crash. Yes, indeed, truth is stranger than fiction.

    3. Guys, di ko naman winish na sana eh namatay na rin yung diver. Ang sakin lang, kung traumatized man sya ngayon, sana sooner eh makapagpainterview na sya. Maraming tanong eh.

There are two things na pwede nyang gawin that time.

FP, please post this one. Thanks!

  7. He was in a hurry to make it to the awarding ceremony of his youngest daughter who had won in a local swimming competition. He insisted to come despite of his wife refusal. Then the tragedy happened.

I smell something fishy dun sa isang nakaligtas.

    4. something fishy?? unfair naman yata yun sa aide, just bcoz sya lang naka-survive. hindi ntn alam what happened during their last moment so wag makitid ang utak.. hindi naman nya cguro ginusto ang nangyari sa knila, and probably he did what he could under the circumstance. so please spare the victims of your ignorance.

RIP to Sec. Jesse. our deepest sympathy to the family

  17. According to reports, the aide lost consciousness protecting Sec Robredo. I think they all lost consciousness, somehow, the aide didn't drown. That's what caused their death, I think. Mas matutuwa pa yata yong iba kung namatay silang lahat. Huwag naman ganon.

  24. Salamat Secretary Jesse for all that you have done, some of which you got credit for and many others that we will no longer hear about. Though many of us do not know you and have not even seen you in person, we grieve in the loss of a decent human being who truly represented the "tuwid na daan". Your love for your country and for your fellowman, your sacrifices and the sacrifices that your loved ones had to live with, your effectiveness and work are now being immortalized in the stories of those you touched and the tears of those who do not know you but are saddened.

In discovering and reading about the life you lived, you are teaching our leaders and citizens how a committed and true public SERVANT should live - the Robredo Way. I hope that your simplicity and successes will teach our future leaders and politicians what the right values and priorities are. May this also touch the conscience of our current leaders and push them to the direction of the "tuwid na daan".

The good Lord must be so happy to welcome you in His Home. May His welcoming embrace warm the hearts of your grieving family and loved ones. Salamat again dakilang Pilipno!

  25. My sincere condolences to the family of Sec. Robredo and the two pilots. I guess it is true what they say; that the good die young. His death is a great loss to his family and this country. Thank you, Sir Robredo, for your service to this country.

  26. With the elections fast approaching, his work as a public servant should open our eyes to the kind of public officials that we will elect. It is disheartening that it would take the death of a great man in order for many to appreciate the meaning GOOD GOVERNANCE - a concept which seems absent in the consciousness of most people, but is in fact the embodiment of his life's work.

May his tribe increase...may we be blessed with the likes of him in our cities/municipalities/provinces and national government.

Thank you Sec Jesse for all that you have done for our city and country.

  31. One, the plane might have been "bulok" na. Alam nyo naman dito satin, bulok na, sige pa rin. Secondly, a pilot error. He should have maneuvered the landing na nakalapat sa water, at hindi pa-nose-dive ung plane. I'm no expert, pero these two things could be possible. Nag nose dive cgurado and nobody could get out cos of the pressure (below sea level na sila, remember.) RIP to all the victims. Shame.
