  71. IMITATION! CHARINA SARTE IS NOT A DESIGNER! MODISTA ANG TAWAG DYAN! M O D I S T A .

    ReplyDelete
  72. Nakakagalit. You want to support local designers but go to their shops-- Randy Ortiz for Myth polos are almost P6,000 each while Zara has great polos for P2,990. And if you check the fabric mas maganda pa yung Zara. Check the quality, yung local na mas mahal hindi ginugupit yung extra thread. Check the fit and availability of sizes, laos na naman ang local. "DESIGNER' pa man din. Rajo for Men uses ---RIBLE fabric! Go to a designer to have something made ibibitin ka naman. Or they're snobbish, making you wait kung kelan nila matapos. So, bakit pa? Tapos ngayon, kopya pa! The quality is so bad it makes you think if these designers wear their own creations.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Agree. Reason enough NOT to patronize local designer apparel. Exorbitantly priced merchandise with mediocre quality.

Disclaimer tho. There are those who still stand true to their profession. You can count 'em with your right hand.

      Delete

  81. Gone are the days when you can go to a designer and have an outfit specifically DESIGNED for YOU. An original (or perhaps INSPIRED by an original) you can be proud to wear because of its ORIGINALITY (slash exclusivity, hence the hefty price tag) and impeccable craftmanship.

Nowadays, if you have an outfit made by a 'so-called' designer, google first if that person has a reputation of copying (shameless!) ideas, otherwise, you'll be paying a huge amount for a 'knock-off'.

  109. Charina Sarte has always been overrated so this doesn't surprise me. The problem with supporting local designers lies in the industry's culture of exclusion. Success is not always determined by talent...connections and money reign supreme.
