Pacquiao’s Official Position on Homosexual Marriages!

Manny Pacquiao was recently quoted in the USA Today as invoking the old testament and recited Leviticus 20:13, saying: “If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.”

In the same conversation Manny explained his feelings in regards to same sex marriage which were printed in an earlier article today.

“God only expects man and woman to be together and to be legally married, only if they are in love with each other.

“It should not be of the same sex so as to adulterate the altar of matrimony, like in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah of Old.”

In what appears to be Manny Pacquiao’s official feelings on the subject, let us just say that Pacquiao’s beliefs are not the beliefs, of this writer or the staff of  MP8.ph.

Rather as a Christian, and believing in the words of Jesus, I personally subscribe to Matthew 7 and forward.

“Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”

“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.”

Manny Pacquiao may be quoting verse but it is evident that more study on the words and teachings of Christ are required

    1. exactly my thoughts too. Also, why do people condemn people who commit sins that were mentioned in the bible such as killing, stealing and coveting but not with homosexuality as it was mentioned as well? what's the difference? a sin is a sin. I am not trying to be righteous but i'd rather live a right life than a twisted one. think people. think hard.

    2. I agree with the both of you. My husband and I were discussing about this and he said to be homosexual is not a sin, but the sin is committed when there is union between two people with the same sexual orientation. I've heard others say that homosexuality is a disease that can be treated. If one really follows the word of God and pray hard for divine intervention, they will change. i've also heard many stories of gay people who become straight when they came to know Jesus more.

    4. TAMA!

What Manny quoted was a direct reference to homosexuality. Let us not retaliate with quotes and extracts from the Bible regarding man judging other men which is not at all related to Leviticus 20:13 - inductive reasoning ang tawag diyan wherein you are arriving at a specific conclusion about a general statement and while Leviticus 20:13 is very specific na.

At tama rin si @Anonymous May 16, 2012 8:26 PM, not a sin until you harbor illicit thoughts againts your kind at PWEDE po siyang pigilan, gamutin at itama.

Bakit nga ba sinulat yan kung hindi? Di ba? Ibig sabihin me basehan sila since matagal na ngang nakasulat yan sa book of life. I don't want to be self-righteous din pero eto na ata yung tawag nilang signs of the times na malapit na ang pagtatapos dahil kung ano-ano na ang lumalabas. Same sex marriage ipapatupad?

Folks, gay marriage is not a religious right, it is a civil right. If two people are in love with each other, they should exercise that right. The problem with this country is that the Philippines is so entrenched with religious conservatism that we are not moving forward. Even, Spain who brought Christianity in the country allows same sex marriage!

I agree with 7:15. It's a civil right. Who are we to dictate that two men or women cannot love each other or be married to each other? The love between a heterosexual couple and a homosexual is the same. If by your religious affiliation you disagree with homosexual marriage then so be it. Is it not enough to love each other and live together as partners? Pwede naman yun. Magsama sila. Why have so much ado on being married? Para ba sa legality like properties and stuff? Kung nagmamahalan di na kelangan ng kasal to have rights to whatever your partner have, willingly ishshare nia un.

Ung sa santacruzan, it's a religious tradition. Huwag sana natin itarnish. Di bawal rumampa pag gusto pero sana wag naman ung connected sa religion. If they feel offended na bakit sila hindi pwede then sana isipin nila na some of their acts may be offensive especially to those who have great revere for their religion and its traditions.

Parang ganito lang yan eh, not because muka ka ng babae or ang puso mo babae hndi ibig sabihin you have full right to use the women's restroom kc in a way offensive un sa mga babae.

Please stop complaining and fretting as if kayo lang ang api sa mundo. You can be gay as long as you want pero sana alam nio ang boundaries nio and marunong nio maintindihan ang mga tao para mainyindihan din nila kayo. I know it's a modern world and all pero u cannot expect everyone to change just like that.
